  1. Another ridiculous onside kick and other stupid calls. Get this guy out of here.
  2. So this looked a LOT different than what we've seen the last several years. I don't want to over estimate anything based on the opponent, but we should be much improved over last season. Overall the team looks in better shape physically, Lampkin is in really good shape and looked quicker and more energetic. Mallard got back on the court and also looked pretty good but may have a little more work to do. Cleary looks more confident shooting the ball. I'm too lazy to look up the new player names but we've added some size, depth and some shooters. #20 and #12 look to be good 3 pt shooters. What I can say for sure is we will be better, and are already better offensively. We are now playing a very high tempo game and its fun to watch. What I liked the most was the depth. I think I counted 13 players that got significant minutes and everyone was able to contribute in some way. In years past I felt like we had some players that never showed as D1 performers, but I didn't see any of that tonight. I also like the way Coach Burton handles the officials, seems like he knows when and how to complain about calls if that makes sense.
  3. Here are my thoughts on what I saw today through my admittedly green tinted glasses. Rubin and A Scott played as expected but A Scott was a bit more aggressive on the offensive end than he was last year. Sissoko wasn't bad but didn't have his best game, maybe in part because Allen also played a lot. Stone played well defensively but had a couple of gaffs on offense. I was impressed with all of the transfers. Allen had an impressive game in the post on both sides of the ball. He's handy around the basket and is a good rebounder. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up starting or at least splitting time with Sissoko. Buggs and Edwards are very good 3 pt shooters and will be a problem to defend. I think Edwards had 16 pts and Buggs had 9. CJ Noland(sp?) is a big boy on the perimeter. He did hit one 3 but his game kinda resembles Rubin's offensively, less of a jump shooter and more likely to drive the basket. Overall, its hard to say how good we will be after one exhibition game against SHSU, but I am very optimistic. The defense is still there and I think the offense will be improved over last season. We have a solid 8 man rotation where all 8 guys can actually contribute on both ends of the court. Lots of hustle on defense, diving for loose balls and the new guys have bought in.
  4. I cant stand Scott Pera and his incredibly punchable face.
  5. Really loving the size of these lineman.
  6. Yep, my daughter grew up in Denton and played college soccer. She could have played at numerous schools in Texas but she wanted to get out and do her own thing. Same thing for several of her friends that played football, basketball, softball, etc at various Denton area high schools.
  7. Damn I love this team.
  8. Football scoop reporting same
  9. I’ve been leaning towards Fuente or Carthel this whole time, but after reading about Keelers background I could get behind him as coach if he still has the passion for it. His resume is damned impressive.
  10. I did enjoy the game but your comment is exactly what I was talking about. Going 6-6 is not a good season regardless of how you get there.
  11. I can’t believe so many people here are happy with a 6-6 season. Great win, but it’s too little, too late for me. It’s not like we’re in the SEC, we’re in CUSA and quite often this year we weren’t just beat, we were outclassed by other CUSA teams. It’s time to raise our expectations and demand more from the football program.
  12. Looks like a game in front of what must be ten’s of people!
  13. Someday I hope we teach our db’s to turn and look for the ball.
