So this looked a LOT different than what we've seen the last several years. I don't want to over estimate anything based on the opponent, but we should be much improved over last season.
Overall the team looks in better shape physically, Lampkin is in really good shape and looked quicker and more energetic. Mallard got back on the court and also looked pretty good but may have a little more work to do. Cleary looks more confident shooting the ball. I'm too lazy to look up the new player names but we've added some size, depth and some shooters. #20 and #12 look to be good 3 pt shooters.
What I can say for sure is we will be better, and are already better offensively. We are now playing a very high tempo game and its fun to watch. What I liked the most was the depth. I think I counted 13 players that got significant minutes and everyone was able to contribute in some way. In years past I felt like we had some players that never showed as D1 performers, but I didn't see any of that tonight. I also like the way Coach Burton handles the officials, seems like he knows when and how to complain about calls if that makes sense.
