Where are our wide receivers?

WR's had huge problems creating separation all day. When it happened it was often created by the coverage scheme or called play routes. When they were locked up in man they mostly stayed covered.

Dajon has shown me enough. He is already a serviceable FBS QB. His critics are jumping on those two INTs, but his 3 to 2 TD to INT ration in that game is better than what DT's ratio was his junior or senior year. Throw in the Nicholls stats, which I know have to be taken with a grain of salt, and his ratio is 3 to 1. We haven't had someone with that ratio since Scott Hall.

So let's get Dajon some help. Tee Goree is one of those rare gets we land every 5-7 years or so. A highly rated recruit who turned down multiple P5 offers to sign with us. He is in the Jamario Thomas/Lance Dunbar level. Burn his shirt. We still have a chance to get to bowl eligibility. Give Dajon the best weapons we have on the roster.

The difference between going to a bowl game one year and then falling back the next, as compared to getting to back to back bowls is huge. It will help recruiting, it will help getting students involved, it will help getting alumni who haven't paid much attention to step into Apogee. Go all out.

Any idea why they are red-shirting Goree and Rutherford? It seems we need them now, if they are ready.

This was supposed to be a re-building year. Remember, that's why there was so much pressure to win last year as it was well known we would be rebuilding this year. I suspect that is a big part of Goree's redshirt status. If the coaches can evaluate and decide he's going to do enough this year to sacrifice having him in a fifth year from now, then certainly burn the redshirt. During the season, it's far too easy to be focused on the "next game" to forget about the long term. Is he good enough to give us an extra win this year verses the near certainly he will be good enough to get us an extra win in 2018?

I doubt McCarney is not playing freshmen because he wants to redshirt them. It is either they are not good enough or maybe like Williams; he does not like their overall dedication to the program.

As far as wrs, two of those touted freshmen never hit the field. The other two are small town players who probably face a big learning curve.

I do wonder why he has given full scholarships to a a lot of walk on wrs that are not producing at this time.

Overall, we need to get more speed in the offense. One way I've been thinking we could do that is to use some of the backup running backs, Ivery, Erick Evans, and Jeffrey Wilson (if he returns from injury this year) as receivers out of the backfield, or just line them up occasionally as receivers.
