It was great to venture into Big 10 land with the team for the very first time. Random thoughts from the experience.

1. Fight - Mean Green never gave up. They were shell shocked in the first quarter and we couldn't get the ball. Losing the coin toss was tough because IU came out fired up. Their sideline jumped and danced like we were OSU for 3 quarters of the game. That type of emotion was unexpected to be honest, but they saw us as an opportunity to get back on track. We bring that focus and emotion to Bham and we compete and possibly win next week. Blazers will not be easy though. Dajon settled in nicely as the game progressed and a four quarter fight was great to see.

2. Game Day - The experience was fun but it is a basketball school. Their fans were awesome and we tailgated with many of them before the game and during halftime. Getting our tickets scanned to go out for a beer at halftime brought back good memories from Fouts. The band day was a great idea for an opponent they were not familiar with. It helped fill the seats a bit and the kids looked happy. Hoosier Village where you buy food and drink and listen to a band pre-game was cool. They even let us bring our beers in since we were from Denton and didn't know the rules about no outside alcohol. It was as chilly as it looked - usual highs 72 but was 52. Felt like Big Ten weather.

3. Aesthetics - All the Indiana flags flying at the entrance around the athletic complex were cool. I can't wait until we get baseball and our stadium.

4. Won't miss - First down Hoooooooooooosiers - oh so annoying.

5. Future - Thank you AD for getting this series and continue to forge games with this conference. I have NEVER watched more Big 10 football in my life as everything up here was the Big and Notre Dame. Back home I am so used to seeing Big 12 and SEC action post game. I can't help but think Rutgers, IU, Purdue and Maryland wouldn't want to showcase their programs in rich recruiting North Texas.

6. Denton Mystique - Many fans had some crazy story or romance about Denton. One guy remembered driving through Denton and seeing the sign "Home of Miss America" many years ago. We were intriguing to them and they couldn't wait to share their connection with our area.

It was a fun time.

Beat the Blazers!

Go Mean Green!!!!!
