In hindsight should we every play a Nicholls type game again? (POLL)

I say ACU

If you do play a 1AA ("FCS") team, you want to make sure it isn't one that will beat you. I would classify today's ACU as "dangerous," along with Eastern Washington, North Dakota State, McNeese State, and a few others.

EDIT: Well, that's scary. UNT90 and I think alike.

What if you let your guard down against a Nicholls State? I am not going to go all TCU over the schedule. At least SMU finally grew the nuts to schedule us. TCU and Tech avoid us like the plague because we have surprised them in the past. Line up, strap it on and go get it. The only teams that I would really have to think twice about are NDSU and Sam Houston State, but other than that if we fear ACU then we really aren't ready for Tennessee next year or even Iowa.

"Each year, a Football Bowl Subdivision institution may count one victory against a Football Championship Subdivision opponent toward meeting the definition of a “deserving team,” provided the opponent has averaged 90 percent of the permissible maximum number of grants-in-aid per year in football during a rolling two-year period."

If this is the case then bring in a terrible team every year. When you can tell recruits that we have been to a bowl game the past 5 years in a row. I don't think they will ask. "well coach who did you beat to get those 6 wins to be bowl eligible?"

I really like the new CUSA. The football is much better than the Belt and we have loads of regional conference mates.

I agree here, too. I like it, as well, if only because we got to keep two CUSA schools in Texas that couldn't move upward in Rice and UTEP, while gaining UTSA and La Tech. So that is light years better than the SBC ever dreamed of being. BUt, let's face it, TFLF is dead-on--all that CUSA really is now is the SBCUSA--those that could move up did, those who couldn't didn't. Kinda like the AAC isbasically the AACUSA--those that could move up did, those that couldn't are still there.
