If you didn't know, Seneca was on the sidelines for the North Texas Nicholls game. Here's a pic of him:

OK so here is my dream. What if we could convince Seneca to join our coaching staff as a QB coach reporting up to Chico as the OC?

There was some talk of bringing in a QB specific coach to allow Chico to focus more on his coordinating responsibilities.

Now that Seneca has retired from the NFL what a perfect landing spot where he would be reunited with Mac. Think of how great it would be to have our young guys like DaJon learning from Seneca who played in the NFL. And what a huge recruiting advantage this would give us. I hope Mac and RV give this some consideration. He does not need the money! Green Bay paid him close to a million last year and he's been in the league since 2003.

There are NCAA limits on how many coaches we can have:

NCAA Article 11: Conduct and Employment of Athletics Personnel:

11.7.2 Football Bowl Subdivision - There shall be a limit of one head coach, nine assistant coaches and two graduate assistant coaches who may be employed by an institution in bowl subdivision football.

There are some pretty strict restrictions on a volunteer coach, all they are allowed to recieve is:

May receive two complimentary tickets to home contests (in the coach’s own

sport).
• May receive shoes, shirts, jackets, etc. as coaching equipment.
• May receive a reasonable non-cash award as part of a team championship.
• May travel with the team to away contests.
• May receive reimbursement for parking expenses associated with practice and
competition.
• May receive a free meal in conjunction with an official visit, provided the
volunteer dines with the prospect.

So you're saying there's a chance...

Also, I'm not sure how anyone knows when someone else "doesn't need the money." Typically, people live a lifestyle according to their income. If Seneca Wallace made millions of dollars a year for his short time in the NFL, he'll probably need a decent amount of money coming in each year to sustain his house payments, taxes, etc.

Additionally, the most talented athletes are usually the worst coaches.

I liked the idea of adding a qb volunteer coach before this weekend, but now would like to see things play out with current coaches and players for the rest of the year. I thought DW played as comfortably, poised, and smart as I've seen a UNT qb play in years. I don't want to mess with that.

This makes me even more sad I could not make the game. Would have been a cool picture :(

I told you FRIDAY that the game was the better option, but you went with that "other" thing. See........
