The movie comes out around Christmas...Can't wait for this one.

Got to see John Wayne's premier of his version of "The Alamo" in 1960 at a theatre near me.

Isn't this version supposed to portray the Mexicans as the good guys, or at least the Texans as not the great heroes we were taught.

I read an article about the director (Baylor Grad). Said something about focusing on the “political” climate of the times. Not just that the Mexican army invaded Texas. I’m going to give it a chance.

They probably weren't as "great" as we were taught, because quite frankly most historical figures are flawed(even if they're heros). Hell who DOESN'T have flaws? I've read probably 10 biographies on Abraham Lincoln for example, and the dude had some issues -BUT he was also the greatest president in our nation's history.

If the movie is trying to show the guys were heros, warts and all, it may actually be really good.

I know that our history's heroes are all flawed in some way, except for Christ of course. However, I heard that this new version was to portray the Texans as war mongers, evil, and as the bad guys. Hope Im wrong.

I've read probably 10 biographies on Abraham Lincoln for example, and the dude had some issues -BUT he was also the greatest president in our nation's history.

Buy The Prarie Years and The War Years by Carl Sandburg.

Extremely well researched, and since it's written by Sandburg, very enjoyable to read.

It is actually a six volume set, but it can be commonly found as either two large books, or one huge tome.
