Volleyball Support

Big game Friday night for the Volleyball team. They have a great chance to win the next four, all at home. Would bring their conference record to 10-1 before heading for the road for three games. I am a big volleyball enthusiast and am asking for as many people to show up Friday night at 7 pm. Game will be very exciting and these girls deserve tons more support from the students and faculty than what they have been getting. They get better every year and have a legitimate shot at winning the tournament this year. Sure would be great to bring them more confidence by a wild and crazy crowd.

My daughter plays VB for a local Middle School and we have been trying to make a game all season. We will try very hard to make the game Friday night.

Thanks Fletch for the support and any support that can be given over the next couple of weeks. I've been on this board before and spoke of this team. I know that we don't have a lot of volleyball guru's on this board but I am telling you that you have the chance to see some of the best volleyball players that have played here at UNT in their final games of their career. Marginas recently broke the 2,000 kill mark, something that NO other player here at UNT has done and is looking to take over the 2nd place mark in Sun Belt history. Sheppard broke the career assist record last Friday at FIU and what is so amazing about this is the fact that she did it is 3 years.

Arkansas State comes to town with a 6-1 Sun Belt mark (the same as ours) but they are sitting atop the East Division. This game is huge for the girls and any support would be appreciated greatly by the players. We've had some great crowds of around 500 but the Snake Pit would be a very hard place for the Indians to win if we could double that number!

I couldn't agree more about how loud that place could get with more people attending. I really wish we could find some loud and obnoxious students to attend the games regularly and cause fits for the other teams. I have been to games all over the country and seen some of the craziest volleyball fans get into the heads of oposing players. I only wish we could find some crazy fans here. If anyone knows of any, send them to the snake pit on Friday night and Sunday afternoons. And I know there are some of you out there, we have seen you at football and basketball games. And if any athletic administration is reading this, please make it an effort to attend the games as well. I see many of you at football and basketball but NEVER at volleyball games. You truly are missing out on some great excitement and fun.

I went to a few volleyball games in my day, and can vouch that they are really entertaining.
