Watch. Marshall and So. Miss will be out of CUSA in 3-4 years. Where, you ask? Somehow the AAC will make room or have room for them.

I do not think aac is better than c-usa and neither do most other Americans.

Craphole has a better shot than either of those 2 because they have the holy grail of college football conference membership:

A television market.

Never mind they don't have a stadium or anything else. That TV market is all they need.

I don't think I'd jump to the AAC from CUSA. I just don't see any improvement, especially once UConn and Cincinnati leave, and you know they'll eventually leave. So all that extra travel to play might South Florida and SMU. Meh.

We're not even remotely qualified to join a P5 conference. Marshall has had much, much larger crowds for quite some time. Even if we had the crowds, we don't have P5 capacity in our stadium. And at present, we really shouldn't have that capacity in our stadium.

With the current AD, we will never have to worry about stadium expansion. Or going to another conference.

Best job in college athletics for the person that has said job.

Only better conference for us realistically is the big 12 and there is no chance in hell at that!

Especially no chance with the low expectations and lack of demand for accountability from the alumni, administration and fanbase.

NO CHANCE AT ALL!

Marshal is the class of CUSA. Once they either upgrade that stadium of theirs or renovate it a P5 somewhere will take notice, tv market or not. Most of the CFB blue bloods are in small college towns. Huntington is no different. They have loyal fans and they show it.

One advantage of theirs is they can recruit, quarterbacks specifically.

Marshall is doing everything they can to get into a better conference.

Maybe, but CUSA keeps adding school after school, with 1AA or even non-existant football, to keep Marshall and ECU happy. They will never leave for another conference.

? ECU has already left ..

Without trying to sound patronizing, that is exactly what I was saying.

Those two schools insisted on CUSA adding regional rivals for them, and they demanded adds in Florida because they both heavily recruit there.

CUSA has made all the concessions to appease them, but they are still going to bolt at the first opportunity.

I may be wrong , but I never remember ECU wanting the Florida schools. I would think that the addition of those 2 would be the main reason they wanted out.

It's not always about t.v. sets, otherwise La. Tech would be it The Belt. Marshall has elevated their program above the herd[pun intended] . In my opinion, the AAC is a better overall conference with bigger pay days.

If the AAC continues to win NCAA tourney games, then it is a step up. If they stop, no difference. Those NCAA units are worth serious money.

Football wise CUSA is just a good.

Not nearly as good in basketball or high end of the football conference. Edited by UNT90

The Florida schools were largely for Marshall. Old Dominion and UNC-Charlotte were largely for ECU.

I am going to venture a guess that most here have never been to Huntington West Virginia. If you had you might wonder, like me, how in the world they do not sell-out every single game. Outside of meth, there is nothing else to do on a Saturday in that town.

Marshall will have a problem with expanding or building a new stadium. The campus is locked in the middle of Huntington. Off the top of my head, I can't think of where they would move it.

Pullman Square is pretty nice. Or it used to be. Not sure if it's being dragged down now.

A sellout is a sellout. Whether it's a sellout full of methheads or a sellout full of squares. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right.

Huh? So they are doing it right by making sure there is nothing else to do in that town? Interesting.
