George asked him about dajon, and he did say they knew there was talent there. He just needed to show more consistency.

After that, it was some typical coach speak about correcting mistakes etc... not much he could have said really. This game was lost by 3 and outs. The d would have done better if they weren't on the field the entire first half. Special teams could have been better, but we all know where this one went wrong...

Getting outchoached is right! When Pegram is in, 90% chance it's a handoff straight up the middle. Go back and look at the SMU film. After the first quarter they bottled him up pretty well. When over 50% of our running plays are getting negative to +1 yard, you have a predictability problem. Where are all the bootlegs we ran last year to get the tight end open in the flat?

Bootleg? With Greer? He would pee on himself

Dajon looked pretty consistent to me. Consistently good!

Consistency in comparison toooo what? Greer? Hahahahahaha, DW looked damn consistent. Mac is a fool and is publicly wrong and he f'n knows it. It's making his blood boil. If Greer is rolled out there v Nichols I'm walking out. F'n pitiful.

I don't think Coach Mac was outcoached. We saw this early on with DT at QB. The offensive game plan was conservative because of the lack of QB play. They began to open up with DT once he started proving he could make plays. Replay the HOD Bowl & you can see how much DT improved from his earlier days. Coach Mac is just reliving this same scenario. This offense will open up once a competent QB is under center.

Come on...DT was a senior last year and still produced a couple real stinkers out there. Remember the non-stop overthrows in the Tulane game and the UTSA game? Just because we won the Dallas Bowl, let's not make a senior (who's supposed to be good at that point) out to be better than he was. Greer stares at his receivers, is not a threat to run, and will only consider his primary receiver. Go back and watch last nights game when Dajon is in. A couple of Evans' runs benefited from the DE of Tech hesitating on the hand off. We have nothing to lose. Dajon cannot possibly be worse than what we've seen. His rocket arm and wheels allows him to look at other receivers. If our coaches don't see it, then they are complete idiots.

This. Hope everyone reads this because I saw the same thing. The DE had to respect DW, and just a little hesitation allowed Evans some room. Same thing against SMU.

I think/hope this is right.

I never said DT was a great QB, just that he was improved. Improved enough to be able to open the offense some & not be so one-dimentional.

Thanked the good turnout of fans and apologized for getting outcoached.

Rick

We were outcoached from a defensive perspective. We keyed on the run and stopped it early. Got pressure on passing downs too. It worked.

Latech started passing on us and mixing it up. We never adjusted. 3rd and 11 & 2nd and 20, and we are still keying on the run. Outcoached and having your players in the wrong position.

This might be true but it's not Coach Mac calling the plays. It's the OC calling it, Coach Canalas
