Hey morons, this is why you need a QB that can throw the forward pass

Skocol worried me all week. Obviously with good reason.

3-9 staring you in the face if you don't FIND A QB COACH!!

This isn't the QB coach. This is the stubborn head coach who can't bring in a decent QB...mainly because no good QB wants to play in this ridiculous archaic offense.

You can't leave Canales without blame. There's no problem with the system.

Another 3 or 4 year development of one Mean Green QB at dear ol' alma mater----again?

Funny how it took La Tech only 1 off season to find an impact QB. This former Hawkeye from UI didn't even play with the Dog's in the Spring according to CBS broadcaster.

I don't understand why we have such a difficult time recruiting a true "light em' up" impact "brand new on the team" QB in Denton--never have.

DW should start the 2'nd half but he won't because we have to stick with the 3 to 4 year development QB plan. This season could be a long one but

haven't we seen 3 steps forward but 5 back before in Denton? Rest of the CUSA schedule at this point looks ominous. The SMU team we drubbed was the worst

one I'd seen with the first SMU team I saw which was at the 1968 Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl when Fry was the Mustang's coach. I don't think SMU's first team even right after their DP was as bad

as the one we saw last week. So....things could be worse for us, right? :(

We can hope and wish that some QB we have on this team catches lightning because 1 first down in the first half in this game is not going to cut the mustard.

Looks like our offensive line are wearing the blue tonight. Seriously, ours cannot break one of our RB's at this junction (half time)

Oh well....I don't mind eatin' crow at any time when it comes to the Mean Green.

GMG!

We need to recruit a QB this class. Greer is the poster child for happy feet and has showed over 3 games he simply isn't a BCS QB.

But, hey, lets run the ball sone more, because no one in our conference can stop us, right?

Right?

Other D coordinators are laughing at NT's game tape right now. The passing game is so futile they're daring the QB to throw. Manny Diaz just wrote the book tonight. Every team will follow this gameplan from here on out. Mac better get his head out of his ass regarding the offense...

But if DW could practice half as well as he plays, all would be great!

And how many DB commitments do we have so far? I think we need to pull some our offers and start handing out offers to QB's and big defensive linemen.

Oh, this was some of the worst NT football I have witnessed in 20 years. Left the game mid 3rd quarter.

Can we get a QB who can play O Line, and one that can also play D Line who can get off blocks as well, and.............

QB play was bad but not the entire reason we got blown out.

Rick

It really was. It really, really was. It kept the D on the field and gassed them all first half long. It allowed their D to stack the box eventually overwhelming the line. It drove the WRs (read Carlos Harris) who were getting separation all night long crazy until the point YOU COULD SEE THEM GIVE UP. It completely filled every single running lane that ever might have been available no matter what the down/distance.

It was literally the EXACT reason we got blown out tonight.

But reality does not work with Rick's agenda...

Oh, I didn't know poor play calling, missed blocking assignments and poor tackling wasn't part of reality.

I did notice that Skip got Higgins in with 10 min to go tonight. I suppose if I have an agenda, besides the "I told you so" that university officials have coming from me as to why they shouldn't allow the Engineering department to dismantle the Model A and turn it into a worthless piece of shit electric car, and are now facing having to put the original motor back in it,... my current agenda would be to remind everyone this is why I said last year we would miss Thompson, but also that it's a mistake to keep Derek in so late during our blowouts last year instead of getting our backups in.

But again, it's the system you don't like. I don't either, but it's what we are saddled with. Asking for something else is asking for a coaching change and that is t going to happen anytime soon.

A tasteless Clayton Williams quote seems to come to mind right about now.

I think the offensive play calling is so strapped right now due to QB play. These guys are calling inside tackle runs on 1st & 2nd down, 28 points in the hole, for Christ sakes. It's easy to shut down an offense when you're so 1 dimensional. When the game counted, LaTech stacked the box, blitzed on many plays, and went nuts, daring NT to throw. We're going to see this every single week until something changes offensively.

I don't know about that. It seems like the problem is that they aren't letting good QBs play and are willing to let the entire team go down just to make a point. So the real issue is that if this keeps up, there won't be any more good QBs that want to come here, because they know they can lose the starting job to a bad QB if they get the "coach's pet" label on them.

I know you have a "class clown" sort of reputation on here, but everything you said last night was spot on and anyone who argued against you just doesn't know what they're talking about.

It's this. It's all this. It's only this.

The offense is the ONLY thing holding this team back from a great season.

The offense is the problem, but to be fair special teams wasn't very good and the D can't seem to quit committing stupid penalties.

When you realize you have to FORCE something to happen, you start going away from sound, fundamental Defense in hopes of forcing a turnover, thus: Hit the QB as hard as you can. Don't wrap up & bring down on a tackle, instead try to strip, or put a helmet on the ball. Put extra effort into every play, which just tires you out. The last point was not demonstrated any better than the 3rd TD in the 2nd Q where Buyers came up to press (which I think we can all admit, is not his style) only to get burned in man-to-man coverage... because he was probably gassed.

Then we're needing a coaching change because the plays were the same as last year, and the year before. DT had the same struggles and the same people were dogging him, then claimed we could replace him with a T post.

How's that worked out? It hasn't.

Last night our O line got whipped several times facing a 3 and 4 man rush. Our tackling and pass coverage sucked on D, and for once when we struggled offensively our defense didnt score to bail us out. Plus, there's no Brelan to stretch the field on O and ST.

Plain and simple,... We got beat....the whole team got beat.

Sure he did, or have your forgotten the ball hitting the back wall, to name just one? His throwing off his back leg, to name another?

You'll have to show me the box scores where he averaged <4 YPA over three games.

Right?

Greer may not be a FBS quarterback but he sure doesn't have "happy feet". My problem with him has been he sits in the pocket when his receivers are covered and seldom attempts to move to give them time to get free.

Oh, and by the way, thanks for taking us up a notch UNT90. Morons are smarter than idiots and imbeciles...right??
