It might be a defining win for this year. In other words, you may see some pretty high attendance this year after people see the beatdown that SMU got. That has less to do with it being a truly defining win, and more to do with waking up some of our fanbase with a manhandling of a familiar name.

Well, they need to get quite a bit better to be part of any benchmarking process. I go with oldguystudent and the program defining loss for their side, which does help them by letting them know just how far they have fallen. I think there is some kind of rule where they lose to us and replace their coach, so...always glad to help.

I think UNT is past the point where beating SMU in a laugher is program defining. But it's definitely one of the biggest wins in recent years and one that all of us alumni who are SMU haters will hold closely to our moobs forever.

I love how they are posting this was our Super Bowl and how they didn't see us winning coming today! Maybe they will wakeup and realize this isn't our Super Bowl, we will be in a bowl, and just how bad their program really is at this point!

Winning games, like today against SMU, will help to grab our alumni attention and recruiting in the DFW area.

The game was a blast, but in the grand scheme of things, it's just one game in the win column and provides a little extra ammunition for recruiting season against SMU. Our sights should ultimately be much higher.
