Anyone else giggling while reading through that? I understand feeling bad after pretty much not scoring for eight straight quarters but they also GROSSLY underestimated our defense. The fact that many of those guys posted expectations of scoring on our D as well as Texas did illustrates how little they really knew about our defense. And then when it's said and done, they chalk it up to how bad they are. That's fine. Discredit us, but we'll be laughing at you when we play another bowl game and you're watching it on tv.

Nobody on that thread gave UNT any credit. Instead some trashed us. Looking forward to playing at their house next year.

And im not really sure why... Outsdie of replacing soem bodies on the OL, next years teams should be better than this season due to depth and more retruning starters..

I guess hope always springs eternal next year

UTEP brought 3x-4x the amount of people.

SMU to UNT: 40.4 miles

UTEP to UNT: 637 miles

If we finish with another bowl season, I think there is a real chance for Mean Green fans to outnumber Pony fans in Ford next year.

Word is that June is getting the axe tomorrow.

I've only seen a few of their rants. But if is disappointing that they don't give us any credit. We are still a terrible team and they just suck to lose to us. Well, yes, they are a terrible team, but unless I missed something, we did win 9 games last year and a bowl game. So until last season is proved to be a fluke (which it can't be proven because we lost so much of our team), we are a good team.

And this is what happens when good teams take care of business against shitty teams.

Rick Totally agree, how sad not to have any support 30 minutes away from home.

I am embarrassed by what I heard some of our students (appeared to be students would be better point out) say to some of the SMU fans though. Very ugly and cussed. I want to lecture them on showing some class.

They can fire June Jones. They can hire the next $2 million man (talk about bad value). They can look down their nose at us all they want. What they can't do, for at the least a year, is read any article, listen to any sports talk segment or watch any television show that mentions next year's game...and not hear "last season North Texas curb stomped the ponies".

When our team jogs into Ford Field next season and feels as if they're playing a home game there will be no amount of whiskey on the boulevard that will change what their own eyes will tell them...NOBODY is interested in supporting the ponies. Not their students, not their alums and certainly not the Dallas community.

      I can’t get over how the offense just dies all of a sudden. As soon as they lose (or can’t establish) a rhythm they’re obsolete for an entire quarter and a half. (Ex: Memphis when the defense actually held and made them go 3 and out multiple times before the flood gates opene; Army when they couldn’t do anything the whole game; ECU and the abysmal 3rd quarter; heck even against Tulane they were only up by like 3 before the end of the half and got super lucky with multiple short field positions due to mistakes). The statistics for the offense feels hollow. Super explosive but no capability to sustain a slow, clock bleeding drive. Which means short time of possession and longer time for the defense to be out there. I guess live by the air raid, die by the air raid. (And they’ve been consistently dying)

      S.O.S. We made too many mistakes…we didn’t play complimentary football…had our chances…I could’ve called a better play to help us out…defense gave up too much…blah blah blah. It’s the same excuses he puts out there the past 5-6 weeks. Seems to me that all goes back to coaching. All of this is a product he created with his environment and culture. This is what you get when you have a coach that’s inexperienced and doesn’t know how to get out of funks. No proper adjustments and make the same mistakes over and over and over again.

      What’s up with DT Sheffield?

      Didn't he come in a play or two after the DPI call on the 3rd down pass to Conwright? I agree with you though that it was bizarre. I was searching for him on the sidelines and wondering why he wasn't in the game. It's a complete head-scratcher even after sleeping on it.

      Honest tactical question here…

      100% yes. This is the Achilles’ heel of the air raid system. To win consistently with the air raid, a deep defensive bench is needed to keep fresh legs on the field. Otherwise while the offense is high flying, the defense is absolutely gassed come the 3rd and 4th quarters. No disrespect to Mike Leach but I’m over the air raid system. I want to see us run the ball, dominate the line of scrimmage, control the clock, and allow our defense time to rest so they can in turn make stops. This is complimentary football.
