Despite the bowl berths, he is 6-32 against teams that finished that year with winning records. There are plenty of other

reasons but I won't get into them right now. They've been repeated ad nauseum on PF.

A fan base that has delusions of their place in the college football world despite repeated humbling lessons similar to what happened last weekend? Now I've seen everything.

Lucky for you, our fan base is steadily improving at saying how we didn't come here to lose.

No real fans had delusions of beating Baylor. Goal was to beat the spread.

June Jones got Hawaii where they were by competing HARD with Boise every year for the right to play the softest schedule in FBS.

I firmly wanted (and still do) us competing for that same crown. WINS are what count.

I was always under the impression that all the backlash at SMU against June started when he tried to bail for Arizona St, then got bounced last minute and came back to DFW licking his wounds. NOBODY wants a coach that has made it publicly known that he'd rather be elsewhere.

Art Briles played it off pretty well with the media. As did Sumlin. Both told their respective suitors they wanted to be THE choice or they wouldn't interview. I assume to avoid this very issue.

ASU issue is another biggun.

Geez, they are really down on their program right now over there. Remind me again--hasn't the current coach earned bowl berths for them in the 4 years before last season, of which they ahve won 3 against Nevada, Pitt, and Fresno State? IIRC, they hadn't even been to a bowl game before that since the Death Penalty. How can you be so down on the coach who brought you up from the absolute dregs of college football for the 20 years between the Death penalty and when they got him to come over there from Hawaii?

You have to understand that many over there see themselves as on the same level as UT. Seriously. They think it's only a matter of time before the Big 12 comes a calling. For their 30k seat stadium and their 5k attebdance. If you like fictional reading, it's kinda the place to be. They have no clue that they are in the same boat as us and every other team not in a P5 conference.

Left out.

And they say SMU grads are smarter than UNT grads...

They appear to be under the impression that Eric Dickerson is still playing for them, and that their visions of football grandeur and greatness are just a tweak or two away from being achieved.

Their delusions regarding academic credibility are downright laughable. SMU has some fine programs, certainly, but no one regards it as an academic powerhouse.

These so called "fans" don't believe in the team enough and are terrible and need to get off the train. When things fully turn around, your AD may not want them around.

The desire is to get a coach who will commit to winning not whining. With consistent winning and hey maybe a conf. championship or two a bigger

conference might come calling. No one thinks that right now we deserve to be PAC-# or whatever but hey if you like hyperbole go for it.

Also, to be in Div. 1A the school must have an avg of 15K attendance in a rolling 2 year window. Excluding the big travel fan games (A$M, Tech) we actually make that

in "attended attendance."

Tell that to Floridastang, or whatever his name is. Many over there think that they deserve a major conference invite NOW!

The thing is, you draw 7k a game to a 30k stadium. You are never getting a major conference invite. That ship has sailed. The Big 12 has the all important TV market with TCU. PAC10? Seriously? They would NEVER invite you guys. It's delusional crap like this that really makes you guys look unintelligent.

Yes, you do "make it in attendance"... WITH OTHER TEAM'S FANS!

you seriously think the PAC10 isn't going to notice that?

Seriously?

No hyperbole: we make the 15K with teams who don't travel well. It's the 22K that gets bumped by big name teams.

We recently hit a record for season ticket sales (beats me why) so if those people actually sit in the stadium + single game

ticket buyers we will hit the mark easily.
