Have you cross checked the number of cusa schools hosting shitty rip teams???

8 OOC teams

Iona and Creighton were top 65 RPI last year.

Prairie View A&M, Delaware State, and Mississippi Valley State were 322 or worse.

Arkansas Monticello is D-2, Langston is NAIA. (Langston Alger is Lisa Simpson's secret crush)

Nicholls State was 266. Sub-.500 Southland team. That's your 3rd best OOC home opponent in terms of 2013-14 RPI.

Not saying that's good, bad, or in between. But the "two 65 or better RPI home games" may not apply to some conference mates... Because they host Penn State and South Carolina (Marshall), or LSU and South Florida (UAB), or VCU and Richmond (ODU).

Not sure why having crappy bball means missing football games but whatever.

People who look for excuses can always find them. No surprise there.

Tasty has always been a basketballl 1st guy. Probably fed his passion for the football season, being that football occurs immediately before basketball.

When the basketball passion was quashed by an outright refusal to deal with a situation destroying the basketball program, of course it affected his passion about everything else.

It is sad.

And the blame doesn't lie with Tasty, it lies in the office of the AD.

I have went from an every game fan, and that including some really bad basketball from 1967 on; to a wait and see fan. I haven't given completely up, thinking anything is possible; but I need a lot of improvement to renew my interest. I think some of the new players are interesting but can Benford merge them into anything resembling a competitive team.

I'll admit being nearly in the same Tasty camp. I didn't completely re-arrange life but most of it. Heck I sometimes wish now I wouldn't have called myself MeanGreenHoops on here because I don't even want to go to the games any more. It's just too painful.

I too am one of those that wouldn't miss a game unless I was out of town for business during the heyday of the Jones era. Now, even though I renewed my tickets (don't want to give up those front row seats) weekday night games are likely off the table unless we are playing someone worth watching. The traffic and construction up 35E isn't worth the effort when the games aren't as much fun to watch as before. Maybe, hopefully, possibly things will get better so I won't feel as guilty renewing my tickets like I did this year.

I talked with Tony Benford for a couple of minutes about the schedule today. He believes it’s the best schedule UNT has put together in the last 20 years.

I'm sure he also thinks the last Basketball head coach hire was the best in UNT history.

It's not a terrible schedule. A few exciting home games in OOC play. Every OOC home game is winnable and that is the key. We also only have 4 OOC games on the road. All four will be tough, but great games to have on the schedule. I do like this schedule more than any other schedule we have had in the past 5 years or so. Sure UTA or a Tech or LSU at home would be nice, but it's a pretty solid schedule with the winnable games.
