If he skips practice I don't want him out there either. Hopefully he will get it together and go on to have a good career here.

He just had a kid. I'm sure he's missed time to be there for the birth

It's not enong it up if you want to choose between Greer (terrible) and McNulty (atrocious). If that means Dajon will be given equal play time then it is a true open QB competition. Here is too hoping

I hope you are right! About DW or Means starting. Greer and McNulty lost the job. If either starts then this teams coaching staff is clueless :/

Well, Mac couldn't have been more direct on his radio show. He never considered putting in DW. Missing practices. Not ready to contribute.

Boom. That's reason enough for me. No need to burn CM's redshirt in that game.

The question is now: How did the staff recruit/coach a QB stable that was as bad as it was on Saturday night.

I think you see either DW or Means starting against SMU. If either or both flop (a distinct possibility), this thing turns into a mess for the rest of the year.

Totally agree. Give DW a shot.

I agree and I wish they would've at least given him an attempt. We are obviously missing information.

That's not the same as saying:

If you had said that he had missed practices, I think a lot of the furor would have died down. It's a big piece of info that wasn't know to the fan base.

OMG... Take the hint, man.

His decline on the depth chart was way before he had a baby. McCoy has a baby last year too. NCAA doesn't have paternity leave. Unless that's a new thing now too?

I always thought a baby was a 9 month process

one question. Why does It seem like DW does not get the #1 QB because he doesn't understand the offense or he does not take care of the ball?

The offense they ran against UT was kmart vanilla. Not vanilla bean, not homemade blue bell vanilla, and not even plain vanilla! 3 completions vs. 4 ints = not taking care of the ball!

If the qb that plays against SMU does not light it up and DW doesn't get a shot something else is up.

I can appreciate that. When Harry and I ran the Mean Green Report we almost got someone in the General Counsel Office fired because we leaked a story about a Dickey contract. I really can understand 1) not getting your source in trouble, and 2) keeping your source willing to talk to you.

However, in this case, there was an awful lot of posters who were posting all sorts of things without being related to anyone. And you could have been a little more heavy handed, the :ninja: icon is the universally accepted icon for "I know something but can't tell you."

I think, based on what Coach Mac said, that DW was never under consideration to play at the UT game because of non understanding the game things. Missing practices and bad prep work.

I just don't know why you travel someone you have decided you will not play at all. Take one of the non scholie QB's and give them a story to tell their grandkids.

It was apparent through DW's workout log that there was something going on with him.

Also, after Mac raving about him and DW almost unseating DT as a true freshman, it didn't have anything to do with talent.

Hope the kid gets it together.

This makes our QB situation even more precarious if Greer doesn't step up on Saturday.

Multiple sources have told me "Green :ninja: P1" was spotted in Fred's hall waiting to catch up to him "just to talk" at inopportune times. It's uncomfortable for everyone.

This has to stop. Someone had to say it.

      This is what I call a “growth game.” This is the kind of game Hodge can use the film from to show the team the razor thin margin between winning and losing against the best teams in our league. If we are who we hope we are, our team walks away from this knowing we CAN beat anyone come conference tourney time, we just have to execute.

      Great game, Memphis is a good team and this one came down to the end. However I am still baffled by UNT's inability to inbound the ball, this is a trend that has been going on for a few seasons now. There were several times today that they would inbound the ball directly into a corner trap, many of those instances resulted into a turn over.

      Mean Green Fall At No. 21 Memphis, 68-64

      The Mean Green (10-4, 1-1) got a career performance from senior big man Moulaye Sissoko who poured in a career-high 17 points on eight shots and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds in the four-point defeat. North Texas’ Brenen Lorient scored a team-high 18 points and was one of four different Mean Green players to score in double figures. Senior Jasper Floyd had 11 points to go along with a season-high six assists. UNT outrebounded the nationally ranked Tigers (12-3, 2-0) 30-21and forced them into 15 turnovers and just seven assists. “If you have told me we would force them into 15 turnovers and just seven assists and outrebound them by nine I would have really liked our chances,” said head coach Ross Hodge. “But it was that stretch in the second half where we didn’t handle their press well and we ended with 16 turnovers. We’ll regroup together and get better from this together.” The Mean Green have a quick turnaround as they host Rice on Wednesday at Super Pit at 8 p.m. CT. UNT is 8-0 at home this season. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and ESPNU.
