Yes. It cost more money to send them down there than the department was willing to spend.

I was actually mad that they (50) showed up to gameday not in uniform. I played hs football in Dallas. 2001 grad. Our band was at every game in full uniform. I'm tired of the damn excuses in this program! Raise the bar! Expect better!

I was very pleasantly surprised. The Texas Band played "Glory to the Green". It was very sportsmanlike. Maybe they did it because someone in their administration felt a bit guilty that our Band was priced out of being able to come down.

Historical note. The North Texas Band of my youth used to play the Alma Mater of our visiting school....as a "salute to our visitors".

BTW, I don't have any problem with our band, or any band, wearing polos and khaki shorts in hot weather.
