Worst showing in years

Today FCS level North Dakota State beat Iowa State in Aimes. It was their 5th straight year to get win over a P5 program. You will NEVER, EVER, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRR see them take the field in one of these games with that playing-not-to-lose, handoff straight ahead clock-running horseshit we rolled out there tonight.

Yeah I watched the game.Watched the game last year when they beat Kstate. NDSU is innovative on O. They run things such as misdirection's and stretch scheme zone blocking PA weak side screens. They play into the hands off over-aggressive, bigger defenses. They don't line up and try to win by going mono-y-mono. They are innovative on O and scrappy as hell on D. We are good on D that held their own and would have looked much, much better with a decent offensive performance.

Here's the thing. We DID have a good year last year and we DID have pretty crappy years before that. We could easily say, "Dan wanted to do better and he's a good guy, cut him some slack." We could also easily say, "Throwing was not an option because we completed more to u.t. than to UNT." However, the point is, for this game, we didn't show up on offense at all! This was the worst showing in years as far as coming out of camp and looking, at least, prepared. We looked like the coaches, especially the O cord, brought donuts for camp breakfast and showed highlights of the Dallas Bowl. In other words, the coaching and play calling highlighted the fact that the QB was not prepared to take on any sort of live game. It was really bad...the worst I've seen in years...and it falls on the coaches and ultimately DMAC. I'm not calling for his head, and I was fairly pleased with last year (coaching blew a couple of opportunities), but this was really bad.

People need to step away from the Cliff. Adjustments will be made and a very different game will unfold next week. Book it.

This. Last night reminded me of some poor QB play I witnessed at our game against USF in 2002. Andrew wound up turning his play around.
