I agree completely. People shouldn't be kept in a job that they're not performing well in just because they've been there a long time, are alums or really any other reason. These were people who consistently performed well at their jobs, chose to attend games they weren't working to support teams, and were very invested in seeing UNT succeed.
We went to ECU last year, why did we have to go there again this year?
Imo Floyd and Massie tend to get lost in a lot of games. It'd be nice to see more production and aggressiveness out of them during games. Good shooting night last night, we tend to grind games out with defense on the road, not with shooting.
Screw pizza.
I remember back in the 90s early 00s, Wendy's used to run some promotion where they handed out cards and NT made like 6 three pointers you got a free burger. Well, the folks at Wendy's didn't check (I mean this was before smart phones and all) --- I got A LOT of free burgers on nights where we didn't hit the requisite number of threes.
I didn't get to watch the game last night, but to echo your sentiment with a little more reasoning (at least MY reasoning)... It's just nice to know we have a team with an IDENTITY. Similar to the Dickey era in football with back-to-back national rushing champs because we successfully ran the ball constantly.
Not saying they'll be perfect all the time, off-nights happen, but just knowing that every time our guys take the floor, it's going to be a frustrating game for the opposition who will most likely score well-below their season average (ECU was averaging 75.5/gm at home before running into us & only dropping 60). It's neat to have something that's unique (or, at least rare) to UNT.
And now, in the age of NIL & constant transfers leaving us unable to really form true affinity for players, it's fun to watch these rotating puzzle pieces come together in Coach Hodge's system & find success.
