Hopes of Sellout are DEAD!

BIG DAWG

Recommended Posts

Good team, bad team, good weather, bad weather, I am always there. Did I believe we were gonna win last night? Not really but, a boy can dream can't he. I think people will look over last nights game regardless of how we played because there is still that hangover from last year. We will give a good showing and maybe those ding bats down the road will bring some fans but I'm thinking 25-27k for the home opener.

How do you know the team and QB's are happy? Don't you think they will go back to the locker room or practice and get a mouthful on the practice fields and in meetings?!! You act like the only way there's going to be anything different than mediocrely is if you say something - plus all the changes the university has done: football stadium, coaches, styles of recruiting - HOD win and none of this happened because someone wrote a letter.

Nothing about that is mediocracy. I guess your also saying Dan is mediocre as well. Make sure you write a letter to him and his staff.

The letter is for you not everyone else and a place for you to vent and feel better. Just make sure it's diplomatic.

Uhhh 74-105 overall and 18-20 here at North Texas speaks for itself. I don't need to speak for it. A letter sent would not be for me. Bitching on this website is for me. A letter/emails sent would be to the administration to be aware that there are expectations and they are not anywhere close to being met. That is of course if this season turns into a train wreck. Losing 38-7 at UT does not warrant letters or emails. Losing 38-7 to SMU, then to Indiana, then to Rice, then to Utsa...then it would start to warrant emails/letters. This is McCarney's first year of his players that he recruited and that are all fully within his system. The microscope is on him, as it should be. One 9-4 season should not cover his ass for the next 5. I mean hell Gene Chizik won a national championship at AU and AU let him hang around one more year until they realized he was wasting their time. I don't like having my time wasted and will inform whoever needs to be informed of that in the event I feel that it is happening. GMG

At some point the UNT football fan culture will change.

*sigh* Until then we just have to watch fans write letters which bring fans up and teams down and feel like crap like they probably already do..yea let's beat everyone up emotionally some more that's a winning spirit! GMG!!!!!

We weren't going to sell out this game. I expect a crowd like the stadium opener.

We obviously have a long way to go, but I'm happy about the progress over the last few years.

It seems that until we win a National Championship some people will never be happy.

it also seems some people would be happy going 6-6 every single year.

I think the usual crew are bringing a few extras (I know I'm bringing 16 extras) and I hope the stadium is packed. The administration is expecting a sell out. I sure hope it happens. What happen to that hit33K stuff? We don't seem to be promoting much this year. Oh well. I just hope we have a different game plan that all of the other dmac games....a guy can hope, can't he? No more run on first and second and try and trick 'em with a throw on 3rd. GMG!

It's a rhetorical question. I want you to realize the kids practice hard and have feelings. If you think you have to state the obvious and write a letter and take us back 10 yrs- then you think UNT believes mediocracy and is OK. Please give an example where letters written have changed a program around.

This is what Dan is fighting against the old school thoughts. Thanks for the fan base keeping that negative culture alive. Bottom line is I am one of those people who will positively support Dan and the Mean Green and "change will start in me" and I won't be influenced by others downward spiral.

The administration is expecting a sell out.

That's the problem. They just expect things to happen and they don't want to put in the hard work of actually selling tickets. They depend on the small choir here to bring a few friends, yet they have the power to reach many more people.

Things like this sell themselves right?

Please give me an example that shows UNT doesn't believe mediocrity is ok...

.....and your letters all these years have CERTAINLY created the change we have seen. You have absolutely provided more of a contribution to the team and not a reflection of the fan base we're trying to change. Just make sure it's not representing all of us.....

When you want to escalate & go to the big guys- make sure you take the escalator....

Uhm last year - maybe we already forgot.....

Quit predicting the future in the crystal ball - have the change as a fan.... start the change in you and believe in your team.

Well, last year our basketball coach earned another year with a mediocre 16-16 record and the full support of our AD who continues to bash players.

And that's not football or Dan...... Let's talk about football in this thread.

Yep, last year we had our head football coach get his record at UNT to just below 500. (He gets a ton of credit from me because where this program was when he got here) The fan base is ready to beatify him after one great season.

Last year we brought back a men's basketball coach who one his very best day is mediocre. Last year we had te SID take to twitter in the afterglow of one the best moment in modern Mean Green history to attack the fans. We had a starting QB wih more interceptions than touchdowns in conference play.

All of that is just last year and doesn't begin to address bringing back dodge after it was obvious it wouldn't work, bringing back Shanice Stephens, havin games sell themselves, etc...
