Smart scheduling, and the game was in Monroe. Amazing, isn't it? You can bring in "low hanging" P5 teams for winnable, home games.

UNT did that in 2012 with Indiana....how did that end again?

Now we only have to make sure we also bet them at their place

And I wonder how much money UNT made off that Indiana game. People love to bring up scheduling, but no solutions as far as making money. People keep forgetting the key word in money games. MONEY!

Apparently you didn't listen to the podcast with RV. We start getting 28k a game into Apogee and we don't need money games.

Beating P5 teams during a bowl season is the way to increased attendance.

Hopefully something changes with scheduling.

Its a vicious cycle. Money games we lose which doesn't help attendance. Low attendance means more money games. If we got rid of money games we might win more which would drive up attendance. If attendance goes up we don't need money games. So, either we have to win some money games to drive up attendance, or RV needs to take a risk and get rid of money games to give the team a better chance to compete for better records to drive up attendance.

I don't want to make an all or nothing statement. Having Wake Forest schedule a home and home with us would be nice. Much like scheduling Indiana was nice. That said it pales in comparison to how important signing a 10 year deal with SMU and Army will be for the program. We of course can have both.

Ok schedule a 1 and 1 with Wake Forest...25k shows up. How much money is that? Schedule another 1 and 1 with Miss state and we play them on the road. We may come out 1 & 1, beating Wake at home and losing to Miss State on the road. Does the Wake victory at home spike attendance? Does it make people want to buy season tickets?

Schedule a money game against Texas and make about 700K or more. Bring in a weak school like Idaho or Nichols. Attendance is 23k. Record 1-1. Lots more money though. It's not close either.

Until the fans and community steps up, the program will continue to need money games. Not just for football, but the whole athletic department. Football is the biggest chance to make money for the department, and that money pays for the other non revenue sports.

I have not seen a solution on here that replaces the money lost by eliminating the money game. We are talking about turning down guaranteed money and hoping the fans and donations step up. That is horrible from a business standpoint.

Or you get a team like Coach Mac is establishing, a hard nosed football team, and you then go to these money games and hopefully kick their butt and take their guaranteed money like Temple did last night!! That gives you both, attendance when you come back home and the money! I just wish football could keep more of it and do other things to help continue the growth!

Exactly! If we can pull this out with Texas, on their home field, we would have everyone respecting our program and putting butts in iur stadium! Not to mention all the money! Key to it all, win baby win!!

Wake forest is a better get than Indiana. I don't think anyone on here is asking for wake forest specifically, but we need more games like this. Kansas, Iowa State, Colorado or even someone like Texas Tech who plays @ tx st and utep. Doesn't have to be A&M, just something better. There's no reason we should playing a 2 road game series with Iowa.

ULM didn't really "take down" Wake. They were already down.

"Take down", meaning ULM won the game by one point or fifty, they won the game.

And we ended up with Nichols State as our 4th game of the season. Whoopee! If you have to play an FCS team, make it the first game. Sheeeeesh!

2015 is bad, but I couldnt think of two better opponents to play THIS year, other than Texas on a year they are beatable and a local rivalry SMU as the first home game.

those two games alone are creating lots of pub for the program. A close loss to Texas would create much more buzz than a win against a weak out of state P5 school.

Last night Vandy had over 5 turnovers and Temple took advantage of it.. Beating them by nearly 30 points. Turnovers and owning this is why we were so good last year.. And our Defense was awesome, go hit ya in the mouth type guys!

Moral of the Story: Just in Bieber.

28K attendance right there if you want the 'tween police involved.

Not to keep pointing out the obvious genius of my constant foresight, but...

Sadly, my foresight was removed shortly after birth. Because of the circumspection my parents chose for me, I seldom make bold, uncertain statements about the future.
