Tomorrow is a big day for us here at the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Our annual football magazine will be in the paper and on the newsstands.

It’s a project that takes months to put together and pretty much puts life on hold for our staff for the final two-week push to get the 120-page monster done. In our humble opinion, it’s the best publication we put out all year and one of the best of its kind in the nation. We have evidence to support that claim. The Record-Chronicle has earned six straight top 10 honors in the Associated Press Sports Editors special section category for newspapers of our size.

I just assumed:

1) Part of it already had

2) We put a Sarlacc in it

3) That's where we've been throwing out-of-favor scholarship players and excess coaches

4) Tony Benford spent most of the summer cackling on his pleasure barge, accompanied by a gold bikini-clad RV chained at the neck

I know this isn't what you said... but i read gold, chain and Ricky V. and this is all I could think of

Back to Vie-toe's original post--the DRC does a really good job with this preseason magazine. UNT could do a lot worse in local coverage, and I've seen coverage for schools like UCF, USF, and other Texas schools first hand. They do a good job over on E. Hickory St.

The overall coverage could be better. But the DR-C's preseason magazine is my absolute favorite annual college football magazine, no doubt about it.
