I just received a text from a good friend of mine who is actually a big TCU fan. Anyway he lives in Austin now and had gotten word on Austin radio that Josh Greer was named the starter for North Texas against UT. Turns out his wife babysat Josh growing up from when he was a baby until he was about 4 years old. She said he was very well behaved and comes from a great family. They are still good friends with his family in Arlington. Just more evidence that Mac made the right decision! GMG

They played a clip of a Greer interview on The Green Guys before the McCarney show tonight.

Seemed well spoken. There were reports as well that he's gained respect from his teammates early in his tenure here.

All good signs.

Wrap that around his 6'5" 220 lb strong armed D-1 QB frame…..could be the beginning of something special.

I don't think there was any doubt in the coaches minds who the QB was going to be. Just needed Greer to show he could run the offense….get the team to buy into him.

I've talked to him twice and he definitely has his head on straight. Answers every question with "Yes sir".

During fall camp I asked him if he thought he was the best quarterback, and he was very humble, saying that was up to the coaches to decide.

So up until he was 4 years old he was well behaved?

UT won't know what hit 'em!!!!

Josh Greer will bring peace to the Middle East and Ukraine (Cerebus shakes his fists in disappointment) and solves the problem of world hunger.

Oh, he also puts a chicken in every pot.
