Carl Caldwell UNT Bio

Carl is listed as a starting wide receiver ahead of Turner Smiley in the recently released depth chart. He transferred from Kansas Wesleyan and played his high school ball at Whitehouse in East Texas. according to CBL.

He was a first team all Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference selection at Wesleyan... as you can see in his bio this guy has been pretty productive his entire career. He was a stud in high school. It makes you wonder how he didn't go to a bigger school out of high school but it could be size, grades, being from a small school, or any other myriad of reasons.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy following North Texas. We give guys like Carl a chance to prove the critics wrong. He has obviously worked very hard to get in the starting lineup as we have some depth and talent in our wide receiver corps. Don't be shocked to see a guy like this you may not be familiar with make a huge play on Saturday.

He transferred in at the same time Kenny Buyers did. Good for him and I look forward to seeing him play.

Yeah... Terrell seems to believe the posted two-deep on the WRs isn't correct...

I don't know if it is or not but didn't they have Terrell listed behind Harris? Isn't Harris a slot receiver? Doesn't Terrell play Z?

I remember Mac really talking Skip up before last season, but then nothing ever materialized and he did not play much. He is a burner, but not much size. Maybe a sign that we will be going down field more instead of 3 yard slants.
