Strong: Shipley is day to day. We have to be careful about his injury.

[Harry]

Strong: We are nowhere near where we should be. They have competed well. Trying to set the tone. This is a really good senior class. Guys that have been here.

[Harry]

Strong: Biggest concern is depth. We want to be able to run the football. We are missing a receiver that can go get it. If we can establish that we will be good on offense.

[Harry]

Strong: Defense is experienced. You have three guys returning up front. You have some veterans guys who have been in the line of battle. We would like to play both QB's if we can.

[Harry]

Strong: By mid week we will know exactly where we are for starters on offensive line and secondary.

[Harry]

Strong: On North Texas -- It's never about the opponent it's about us and how we play together as a team and that we are giving our best effort.

[Harry]

Strong: On Dan McCarney -- Me and Mac go back to our days in Florida -- he always wanted a coke and twizzlers... he was always just wired with intensity. That team will be well coached. His coaches will be well prepared for us.

[Harry]

Strong: We want to make a team one dimensional. We want to stop the run and force them to throw it.

[Harry]

Strong: It's going to be fun and exciting but we have to win this football game.

Strong: We will play Jason Hall a freshman Foreman, Lorenzo Joe -- we have some freshman who are doing well.

Strong - 3-0 would be good to me as long as it is a win.

Strong: We do a first down defensive mix on plays. You want to stop them on 1st down. You want 2nd and longs so you have an advantage. It's always about 1st down mix of plays at practice.

Strong: Suspended players will not play in this 1st game.

[Harry]

Strong: If we ever are going to win it is going to be up front. Game is going to be won with the big guys up front.

Y'all catch when asked if they'd play 2 QB's on Saturday he answered "yes, if the game goes the way we expect it to"

Strong: When you build confidence the winning will take care of itself. Guys are from really good programs in high school used to winning. It didn't go so well the last three years. These guys hve a chance to put a mark on this program.

[Harry]

Strong: I have had to discipline some players but there has been no resentment to that.

[Harry]

Strong: Special teams is so critical. Will Russ has done an unbelievable leg, he needs more consistency. This is a team (UNT) that led the country in blocked punts last year. We will put starters out on special teams.

[Harry]

Strong: Walkons have worked hard. Even though a guy is not on scholarship he can earn it here. They are going to get a chance to play. If they are good enough they are going to play.

Strong: Running through the tunnel Saturday is going to be really special. I am ready to see this team play.
