Looks like he originally signed with Air Force: http://www.dailynews.com/sports/20140206/daniel-khan-signs-with-air-force-academy-football

Of note: Was injured for part of the season but still managed 39 receptions for 522 yards and four touchdowns, plus he started on defense and was the holder for place-kicks. His best performance came in Week 2 with seven catches for 156 yards and two long TDs in a surprisingly easy 41-24 win over state-power Del Oro. Also had seven catches for 113 yards and two TDs against eventual state-champion Chaminade.

He did sign with Air Force:

Daniel Khan WR, 5-11, 160, Sherman Oaks, Calif. (Notre Dame)
Held offers from virtually everyone in the Ivy League. Told Scout.com that academics were the most important factor, but he also wanted to be a contributor. Caught 61 passes for 954 yards and 11 touchdowns during his junior and senior seasons

To answer the question, he must be a smart kid to chose NT over those schools! He must of heard of our new President. They are changing our name next year to UNT Harvard in Texas
