A look at UNT’s quarterback options

I fully expect there a plume of smoke to rise from the Mean Green Athletic Center some time in the next couple of days.

Will UNTs coaches choose Josh Greer as their starting quarterback or go with Andrew McNulty?

I would be content with Greer at QB. I do not have a lot to base this statement off since I have never seen them practice like some. I can only go off what I have read and heard from people on these boards. Greer sounds like an intelligent QB who can move the ball through the air. I still hope to see Dajon in there in a few plays to show off his speed and arm potential arm strength. Less than 2 weeks!

DT rushed 64 times for 157 yards...2.5 ypc and 3 tds. If the starter is McNulty I expect double those stats if he can run like some has said. The read option should be a lot harder to defend.

I also expect more fumbles. Jim and Evans also fumbling issues. 2Ints and 1 fumble was turned into TDs last year. Hope we dont beat that number.

That picture of MiniMac...

*shudder* Anyone else feel a chill come over their room?

No because we have not seen how he has developed from last year to this year. We also have not seen Greer play. The coaches will make the right decision and we will support them. Give the young man a chance is all I say.

I'm starting to get a little excited about the possibility of Greer starting.

If the coaches name him starter that means he's getting the offense and they like the other qualities he brings (decision making, leadership, etc.)

So we get a QB that passes the Mac test that is also (by all accounts) a big, accurate, strong armed D1 sized QB.

We've had big armed and athletic QBs

We've had a smart QB that understood the offense and had the trust of his teammates.

I'm not sure we've had both under McCarney….

From that Article: "He’s doing a pretty good job of leading, and it’s pretty safe to say he is one of the two players that will start against Texas"

Should we read that as "we are rotating 2 QBs" in that game? Or, he's one of the two with a chance? Sounds more like we should expect a rotation in that first game, to me.

Oh good! Guys looking over their shoulder, worrying with every throw if that's going to be the one that gets them pulled for the next series. Worked famously for Mack Brown, over the past four years.

I read it to say one of two players will start against Texas. That is all. If it were your first question, he would've said one of two players that will play against Texas.
