I wish we could have somebody write stuff about us in these things that actually did their research thoroughly. UTSA was not our finale. Credibility went out the window as soon as I read that.

I'm guessing this "ranking" is more an attempt by Paul Myerberg to project that Marshall's weak schedule will force them into the top 25 discussion at the end of the season and he's aggressively ranking them now hoping to point to his accuracy come November.

As others have mentioned, a Marshall team that runs the table and heads into the CUSA title game unblemished would be great for the conference and for the publicity of the championship game. I'd be curious to see how an undefeated Marshall would be ranked by the Playoff Committee once they begin publishing their top 25 in late October. With all the noise surrounding strength of schedule with respect to the top four, I wonder if they'd be inclined to "make a statement" with a low view of Marshall due to their schedule weakness.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Marshall go undefeated, win the CUSA championship game, and remain in ranked by "the committee."

I doubt any teams outside the big 5 ever make "the committee's" top 10 (unless they are undefeated and have a win over another top 5 team).
