For what it's worth, we played SMU in Denton and had a sellout in late '80's...it was televised on local area tv..channel 21 or someone like that. It was, however, a six pm kickoff and I worked my tail off to sell the gap between the automatic 15,000 that were easy sells and the remaining 5,000 that put us over the top...by the way, about an hour before kickoff we learned that the lights at Fouts were not working..thankfully, they came on later in the game when we needed them.

I was 36 years old when I went to my first college football game. It was my first introduction to college football, my first introduction to Dodgeball, a 56-26 thrashing at the hands of Tulsa, who sat at 42-10 at halftime. I had no idea what the standard for a college football stadium was, so I thought Fouts was just fine. Then Apogee opened, and we got coach Mac. Man, did I get a lesson.
