I'm sure its just me, but it seems to me that the refs were more quick and zealous when signaling a Texsa touchdown. On the North Texas field goal, the far side ref acted like he wasn't going to signal at all. When Texsa scored, it looked as though the ref would pop a button on his shirt.

Was that Scott Davis at QB ?

Beat Texsa

Yep, that was Scott Davis...Marcus Camper had an all-world game, too. It was a screw job orchestrated in four quarters.

Never noticed the robbery on the first UT TD before. Receiver never had possession.

Seriously. I don't think I've ever seen a receiver run while celebrating a touchdown without the ball in his hands, and least to spike or throw it.

I also saw at least 2 horse-collars on Texas DBs go un-called

You could also tell that these refs weren't professionals, they weren't even wearing the usual black pants!

If after watching this video your blood pressure doesn't go up due to the disgusting officiating, you are not a true MEAN GREEN FAN!!!!. I sure hope Coach Mac has shown this to the players. It makes my blood boil every time I think about it. I was there and witnessed the BAD calls. We outplayed them they just out paid the officials.

I may need to reedit this. We changed the aspect ratio and not sure it was necessary. I tried to give two angles where possible. The field angle is overexposed. Scroll to 0:56 and 10:28 for the robbery. If you have the stomach for it.

If you would.....change the title of the video to 1988 North Texas vs. Texas Football and add in some tags that will help people better find this vid. Great job!

Anyone else notice how many UNT fans are in the audience? You can't see them by the color green since people didn't give a crap about gear back in the day... but you can hear how loud they are.

That was one of the best parts of that night in that during many parts of the game, especially in the first half that the only crowd noise in the stadium was coming from the green section. Not sure how many we took that night but some estimated between 3,000-4,000? The fact that we had beaten Tech in Lubuttocks the first week and were ranked #1 Nationally in FCS and the DFW media were constantly reporting on us leading up to this game had a lot to do with the great turnout.

Here ya go.

For those that weren't aware, the reason that fumble recovery/reversal was so significant is we had just gone up 14-0 iand tU had no idea how to stop us, and we would have had another possession inside their 40 yard line with a chance to go up 21-0 in the 1st qtr.

When we were up 21-7, I remember thinking this is about to become one of the greatest sports days of my life. 6th street was going to be flooded with NT fans. Instead, it was the longest ride home that I can ever remember.

We really were the better team on that day. It was no fluke. Scott Davis was a man possessed.

I have let this one go after all these years. However, if that game was replayed today with different officials, we would have won. There is so much media attention today that even biased refs would have a problem getting away with that crap. Not to mention that instant replay would have reversed those 3 big plays.

Worst officiated game ever ? It certainly is in my lifetime.
