I felt like he was still figuring things out in the Spring. At times he looked lost. He did not push Fred Scott as much as we hoped he would.

I'm hoping he worked hard in the summer and can firm things up this fall. There is no doubt that he is a physical specimen he just needs to learn the Skladany system so he can use those physical tools.

We need this young man to learn the system. Here's his bio:

•Played in the 2011 Under Armour All-American game
•Garnered four stars from Rivals.com, Scout.com, ESPN and 247Sports.com ...
•Considered the No. 6 inside linebacker recruit in the nation by Rivals.com and the 15th-best prep player in the state of Texas
Scout.com ranked him as the No. 6 recruit nationally at middle linebacker ...
•A member of the ESPN 150 (No. 147) and ranked as the No. 7 ILB by ESPN ...
•Considered the No. 9 ILB by Tom Lemming and No. 11 by 247Sports.com
•PrepStar Magazine All-American

Seems like people are still forgetting about Blake bean. He's listed as the #2 behind Scott and I was told he knows the defense and can play. Started for buffalo last season so he has experience. Had a minor injury in the spring.

I think GMG24 brought this up in another thread, but we may really need Anthony Wallace to step in at SAM for Derek Akunne after this season.

Outside of Akunne and Fred Scott, Mccarney's linebackers that he's signed have been smaller, speed type guys. Garner, Montgomery, Ellis, Minor, and Marshall. Those guys are all more WILL type linebackers.

I asked the same question in June when they were down here & don't hold your breath on that kid making a difference. The persons I asked were from the def. side of the ball. I hope he gets urgency in his playing since he has the physical tools to play, they said.

I'm a big Bean fan --- he's a really good player. I think he'll make a big impact.
