Diggs is good against guys of similar size, but the rest of the secondary is definitely not up to par with what Texas has put out on the field in its glory days under Mack Brown (i.e., 2001-2009)

This is unfortunate news for UT, but fantastic news for us.

This has me wondering though. Does Strong think we are really cupcakes to drop the hammer in such a fashion? Or would he have really dropped the hammer in this manner regardless if who the week 1 opponent was/is? I like to personally think the latter, but who knows. Thoughts?

Except that when/if we beat UT on the 30th, we will get close to no credit for the win from the media. All the attention will be on the suspensions. Could affect the potential of this being considered a signature win.

That said, I'll take the win either way.

That is completely unreal. Wow. How many is that now? 10?

I believe 9. Josh Turner was one of the players previously reported as off the team, so you can't count him twice. Looks like just a suspension now. All the same for us, as he will miss our game. The only Texas game all year that I care who is suiting up for them.

Who cares where the media attention will be. If we were to beat UT in Austin, alumni heads would turn so fast they would keep north Texas Chiropractor offices full for a couple of weeks.

And the atmosphere at the SMU game would be unbelievable, even if it wasn't a sell out.

And yes, young Ben, I doubt you would see these suspensions if UT had BYU in week one. It is what it is.

I think the story will be that we simply reloaded with a practically a completely new defense and won thus continuing our rise.
