Most of you guys are much smarter than me in discussing all things political. I get it. But help me understand this-

An illegal alien, illegal immigrant, whatever the PC way to describe someone who came into the US (illegally), driving under the influence, kills an Arizona police officer, and gets three years probation. Forget that he wasn't even deported. Think about it. A killer gets three years probation!!!! And he's in this country illegally!

I just don't understand our (il)legal system of justice.

What am I missing? Can one of you "intellectuals" explain this to me?

This is what Deep is talking about.

A couple of things. The illegal was not given probation for killing the police officer, he had been given probation for crimes 20 years earlier that occurred in Colorado. The police officer's mom is upset because he was not deported after committing those crimes and was left in the US to kill her son.

Strangely, she has no problem with illegal aliens who haven't yet committed a crime (or been caught committing a crime).

Which begs the question: why wouldn't she be just as outraged if this crime had been committed by an illegal with no previous criminal record? Except that they committed a crime when they entered the country illegally...

Really weird point of view.

She might not have an issue with undocumented immigrants, but I am going to trust that - if you asked her - she does not support having illegal aliens in this country. We could probably have a 30 page thread debating the semantics.

The most eye opening thing I heard was that deportation enforcement is subject to the ebb and flow of the current administration, which includes deporting an "undocumented" immigrant who has committed a crime. I guess deporting "undocumented" immigrants that have committed crimes wasn't a concern/priority 20 years ago.
