Texas couple donates a million for college bar

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Wealthy alumni usually finance new football stadiums or libraries at their old colleges. Tom and Leti Contreras are donating nearly $1 million to build a bar.

The couple met at St. Marys University in the 1980s at an on-campus spot known as The Pub. It closed shortly thereafter and has left the small San Antonio liberal arts college without a watering hole ever since.

I just read about this and I go to St. Mary's Law!! This will be perfect in between classes. St. Mary's is a great graduate university, so the attraction of a bar will be a perfect addition.

I remember watching lab bands and drinking brews at the 1 oclock lounge in the union when I was in school. Didn't meet my ex wife there though... was nice to watch jazz and have a beer and a pool table. as good as those kats are playin jazz its a really hard thing to watch in an auditorium with no beer.
