Still no exact timing, but AT&T Inc. did say Thursday which areas of the Dallas-Fort Worth region will receive its U-verse with GigaPower, ultra-high speed Internet and television service this summer.

AT&T said the initial launch will include parts of Highland Park and University Park, with upload and download speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second.

Sigh. This is still crap compared to what we could have.

If nothing else happens this fall with the proposed FCC rules, I hope the one about clearing state restrictions on municipal broadband passes.

Denton Municipal Electric has been chomping at the bit to get us Google Fiber or more accurately Chattanooga's EPB Fiber with over 1 Gigabit up and down.
