His amateur status was in question. I am sure he was flown to and given some nice things while on the Aau circuit

Great kid! This is a reaction to what happened with his former high school teammate Isaiah Austin at Arlington Grace Prep/Baylor. Mudiay was one and done at SMU, Kentucky or anywhere else he would have signed with. Take the money son and help your family. No one understands this more than Larry Brown.

Ya, but it's usually Larry Brown paying the player. Looks like SMU needs to up their payment plan.

NBD... We had a guy scorn us for the pros this summer as well.

My guesses: there were improprieties in recruiting and SMU is trying to dodge the outcome, or he could not get into school.

Way down the list of possibilities, Brown encourages Moody to turn pro to help his family.

I think all players must choose to either play two years of college ball or be 22 to enter the nba draft. I am fine with him going overseas to play, but I don't want him in the nba for years since he made his choice.

That's a ridiculous plan.

Why they make them wait in football so why not in basketball... I guess basketball players should not get educated but football players should?

I would site LeBron James disagreeing with this however James was ruled ineligible after accepting two jerseys from a clothing store. Had he not been allowed to enter the draft straight out of high school who knows where he would be today.

Does education scare people? Most of these players go broke and have no idea how to manage their money. Sure Lebron has enough to go around but most players will not. An education is important and two years will not affect their game much.
