Overall a good article. Would have liked him to provide the perspective of being a former player at UNT and how they prepared for these paycheck games but understand if he is writing for a UT site he may need anonymity.

According to the depth chart in the prospectus Akunne is OLB. And on page 17 "Promising young talent will be with Akunne at the linebacker spot.

Sophomore Fred Scott and Oregon transfer Anthony Wallace are tasked with replacing Orr at the middle linebacker position."

I asked Ryan about this after the Georgia game last year. He said they prepare for those games just like they prepare for the other ones. The only difference is that when you watch film it is like watching ESPN SportCenter hgihlights. They watched film on Georgia and South Carolina last year. Clowney was doing swim moves over a 6'7" Offensive Tackle. Also showed him taking lots of plays off.

They get a little extra juiced for these games but the prep is the same no matter which week it is.

The most important aspect of the UT game is to stay healthy. I'd go crazy if we pulled out of there with a W. Chances are we don't win so staying healthy is the key. From my perspective we need to be healthy against SMU.
