Something to consider about this tweet from earlier (in Vito's article) is that Wilson says top 3. Not final 3. Taking a look at his twitter, it seems pretty clear that he's trying to contact a bunch of coaches across the country and see what last-minute offers he can get. Anyways, still good that we made this cut. But even if we could get his commitment, this would still be one we have to watch until signing day. Hopefully we could get him regardless.

^^^^^ Northwestern State gets it!! they aren't afraid to offer a kid they probably stand ZERO shot in getting. but at least they offer

They do get it. They're one FCS program who I give some stock to a player when they offer. They also offered Tee Goree and Mason Y'Barbo, to name a couple. Not to mention they beat La Tech this year.

I do not think $mu will beat us recruiting. $mu has lost 2 players who have decommited from the phonies who have

reopened up their recruitment. One of these players is a 4 star rated QB.

So if a North Texas prospect commits to Ohio State that is OK.

But if a player commits to the phonies, then we are getting our ass kicked?

I don't think so!

$mu recruiting is fighting other programs for players, just like North Texas is doing.

Lets see how recruiting turns out on Feb 4th, 2015.

Hate to say it, but SMU is most likely going to kick our ass in recruiting this year with Chad Morris.

Amen. Younger, vibrant staff; a well recognized name who runs an offense that these kids are accustomed to and want to play in... We had better be prepared to lose the majority of the head to head battles with SMU for a while.

I wish this kid nothing but the best but not a fan of "taking my talents". Come on man, how arrogant

I don't like it either, but kids say it all the time. Even Tee Goree did. You can blame LeBron, who started saying it, and the media who makes LeBron the spectacle that he is.

Sorry, but they are completely kicking our butt and, unfortunately, signs point to that continuing. They have gotten two of our, now former, commits to decommit. And they just got D'erren Wilson. One of our top targets who we've been diligently working on since the summer, and who they just barely offered this past weekend.

Their decommits have just been as a result of them not really wanting commitments from the previous staff. They chose to pursue other players, including at qb. They wanted go get their own qb (Chason Virgil) so they mutually parted ways with Kyle Kearns. Kearns' only FBS offer was SMU.

They made a great hire and he's made great hires on his staff. That staff is a recruiting machine and it's showing. You're right that we need to wait until signing day. But there just are no signs pointing towards us getting any players they want, as long as both of our coaching staffs remain the same.

Getting Van Malone as DC and Mathis is great for recruiting. Malone is one of the areas top recruiters.

Jason Phillips was the SMU OC, so I assume he's leaving. Phillips was once with Houston and one of the top recruiters in the Houston area. Wonder where he will land.

If it were up to me, I'd say no, thanks. He's rejected us once and there are better receivers that are uncommitted. We can likely get by with zero or one more receivers, depending on quality.
