SMU netted six-figures from beer sales at Moody Coliseum and will start beer sales at football gamesicon1.png at Ford Stadium this fall, according to the school’s athletic director.

Rick Hart told USATODAY the school experienced no issues with beer sales at Moody and will begin sales at football games when SMU hosts Texas A&M on Sept. 20.

The six-figure net from beer sales is notable because SMU played only 12 games at Moody Coliseum last season. The historic venue was being renovated and SMU had to play the first half of its schedule at a venue in Garland.

Beer sales were part of the new Moody Coliseum that reopened in January with a winicon1.png over eventual national champion UCONN.

To quote Coach Mac, "Why not North Texas?"

Exactly my thoughts. People need to stop with the it's so difficult to get done in Texas crap. People expect to get a beer at a game these days. Not just Club Level people nor just certain pockets of the stadium.

Honestly, I never understood from the beginning of Apogee why the Fouts deck concept was so hard to bring over. Anybody who was a reasonably serious UNT fan could get access to the deck. If not on your own dime, it was easy enough to find someone who could get you in as a guest. Now obviously, it would be better just to outright sell it throughout the stands. Do it like the cotton bowl and charge, what was it, $7 for a beer. There was zero in game binging.
