DeLira got to know Iowa State wide receiver coach Tommy Mangino, who DeLira said was among the first college coaches to really take a liking to him.

The quarterback became interested in the Cyclones, as well, quickly closing his recruiting process with his commitment to Rhoads on Friday.

DeLira said he had talked with other schools, including New Mexico State, North Texas, and Oklahoma State, but had not received any other offers.
