If the line is 21 it's only because Vegas is trying to drive up the action.

This is not a game where we stay within 21. The reasons we stayed close to Georgia (D-Linemen, Chancellor and Trice on special teams) are gone. They will run for a LOT of yards and play action will be there all day.

Sure... but Georgia also had Aaron Murray, and generally a better team than Texas brings this year.

8 carries v LSU? Against Aub he sat out a large majority of that game. And Murray ran for like 40 yards against us. Either way, not the point I was trying to make Mr. Statistician. 99% of the shit I type on here is off the top of my head bc this board is not near important enough to me to do "research." I'll apparently leave that to you for me. Follow me around, grab my pocket.

QB play may not be able to execute the play action... but my worry is that they wont need to. Gray/Brown just run it down our throats.

We are not going to let them beat us with the run.

I hope you're right, but I think our undersized D-Line gets mauled all the way down the field. I would not be surprised if UT throws the ball less than 20 times. This is going to be a low-scoring game, and we're going to need to make the most of each of our possessions, and PROTECT THE FOOTBALL.

Best thing about our D-Line is that they can be prepared a little better by practicing against our O-Line, who, I think, can give the UT defense some problems.

Green team QBs combined for 357 yards and 62.5% completion percentage in high wind. I will take that any game.

I don't get why people are dumping on them for that game. Don't get it at all.

Whoever wants to downplay the wind, was obviously not in attendance that day. That wind was no joke. Although the numbers are impressive, to me at least, what impressed me more was the way balls were delivered. Good zip and accuracy on a majority of attempts. If I were Coach Mac, I'd put DW out there vs Texas and run a 2 back set with Pegram & Jimmerson and just run the option all day long behind our beasts up front. But that's why they pay him the big bucks and I play NCAA 14 on Xbox.

As far as the line, Vegas could set it at "off" and I wouldn't care. Vegas isn't in the upset picking business, they are in the money making business. If they set a low line, money would come flooding in on Texas. They don't want the risk, plus, they don't pay all that much attention to us.

I appreciate some people like Emmitt trying not to get their hopes up, but I've never been more optimistic in regards to a "money" game / "body bag" game, whatever you want to call it. Can't give any numbers, or matchup data that favors the Mean Green. Not even sure if there are any. I just believe to a man that everyone involved in the North Texas football program wants to come out and make a statement. They want to let the college football world know what it means to be MEAN GREEN. I believe in 75 days, something really special might happen....

One thing different from this Mac team, as opposed to the DeLoach defenses of the past is the speed and ability of the secondary. My thought is you are willing to put James Jones and Buyers on mano v mano if it will allow you an extra run stopper (Lee) to focus on stopping their running game. Given their QB situation you have to force them to beat you throwing the ball. Chris Simms could do that, I don't know if they have a guy like him to start this season.

On offense, it will come down to how well we throw the ball. Marcus Smith could be a huge weapon in this game.

The storylines of the game will be UT's TOP, YPC, and 3rd down %. North Texas will have to go mano v mano on the perimeter and shade the 1 deep to the side of the weaker corner/better receiver. That will be Skladany's decision on what defensive player of his he wants to put the pressure on. Bottom line is limit/stop the run. That's our best shot at keeping it close until the 4th, which then anything could happen. If we load the box and they start running the ball at will we are in obvious trouble.

And this is why you have no credibility around here.
