Two Goals I'd like to see happen

There are two records I would like to see happen this year with the Mean Green football team.

One, a win vs. a ranked opponent. This hasn't happened since 1974 when North Texas beat #20 San Diego St.

Second, a 10 win season. We've had several 9 win seasons the last decade, but double digit wins is something that hasn't happened since the 10-1 Hayden Fry team in 1977. So maybe the Twitter hashtag should be #Hit10.

accomplishing goal #1 might be impossible if Texas isn't ranked in the preseason poll...

but i guess if we played well enough we could run into someone ranked in a bowl game

It's been like 100 yrs, or so, since Abner Haynes was here. I'd like to see a decent, Hall-of-Fame-worthy, running back emerge this year.

For us or everyone else? Officially, it's the ranking during the week you play each other that counts.

I think Indiana will start the season in the 30s in a few polls. If they win thier early games, they could be ranked when we play them. Other than that, we can play a ranked Marshall in the cusa ship.

I think of Hayden's 10 win season with an asterisk. The win against Miss State was actually a forfeit by them.
