"Fortunately for Mean Green fans their program has everything in place now to win on a regular basis. It also has everything it needs for North Texas to become a top 15 G5 program every year . If neither of these reachable goals ever materialize , then North Texas will have no one else to blame but themselves. There is little doubt however, that Coach McCarney will do everything in his power to make both of these important goals a reality."

That's a good article.

Nice article. Pretty good summary of things. I would like to see us higher than a perennial top 15 g5 program, perhaps top 10 or better but either would be a big step forward.

There's that word again #Believe

"McCarney has become a true believer in North Texas football. He also believes that North Texas is sitting on a gold mind of recruiting opportunities and potential McCarney has become a believer in the Mean Green fan base as well."

Great find, thanks for sharing!

This year will be key. Can we replace graduated players from a bowl team and still be a winning football team? Or will we pull a La. Tech or USM and have a huge drop off?

QB and defensive front 7 are huge question marks. Positive answers to these questions will make us a winner again. Negative answers? ...

The article is very poorly written, but it has some good thoughts. This is the key point:

To be clear, however, one season does not make an empire nor does it mean that North Texas has officially turned the corner. It's hard however, to look at the Mean Green football program and not get excited about its potential and upside.

Yes, it's a positive article. But really, "A top 15 G5 program."

What is that? Are the 60ish P5 schools automatically ranked 1 through 60-whatever and we are now hoping to be somewhere between 75 and 90 in the country?

I'm not sure of the journalistic credentials behind the blog. As 93-98 points out, the writer really seem to like the word "however." A little re-reading and editing can go a long way. (You'll notice I edited this post!)

But, it is good to have generally nice things written about you.

I think the article is pretty good. I was an English major and compared to how these things are usually written it's not to bad. More importantly, others are noticing about the turn around in the program.

Unintentional humor?

I don't care how it was worded or written. It's publicity and I'll take it. We just need some major media outlets in DFW to take notice of this and realize they are the only ones with their nose up in the air refusing to give us pub bc they are dying for TCU or SMwho to become relevant.
