Came across an interesting article on Crystal Ball Run discussing the ideal neutral site for each conference's title game...

Conference USA

In 2014: On campus

Best Possible Site: New Orleans, Louisiana

Surprisingly, perhaps, no conference has established a championship site in New Orleans, a city that has proven capable of hosting any number of football events from the Sugar Bowl and the New Orleans Bowl to the Super Bowl. So why not send Conference USA’s best to New Orleans for a championship game? Attendance in the Super Dome may be a concern, but it would be a good fit in the middle of the conference that fans would likely flock to.

I don't know if it's even been discussed but it's an interesting thought. I can see moving the game to a neutral site as potentially providing additional revenue and exposure for the league. On the other hand, bowl attendance is a concern for CUSA programs so, unfortunately, I don't think asking two programs' fans to travel well twice makes much sense right now.

If there's a neutral site, N.O. is probably the best bet, but I agree that it may not be the best idea for a mid-major conference and travel expectations.

Neutral site seems like a bad idea for leagues like ours. Hell, even the PAC12 hasn't had a neutral site title game yet. Though the word is the league office wants it in SF, most of the fans I know are dubious it will work well.

I effect you would be asking your fans to make two post season trips. One to New Orleans, and another to whatever bowl game. With the smaller fan bases of CUSA teams I think it would be asking too much. Most would be forced to make a choice
