6'0" 200 lb safety out of Fort Scott CC in Kansas. Another offer out to a JUCO safety. Our JUCO offers have gone out to safeties, outside receivers, and d-linemen so far. Had 6 interceptions last year as well as 68 tackles. Covers good ground and lays the wood pretty well. We are Gray's first offer.

You can tell they are looking for the next Laramie Lee. This guy looks like he can play. That Kansas Juco league is pretty stout.

Sign Gray and you're probably looking at him and McClain as your two safeties. If you don't, I think moving Buyers to safety could be a seriously considered move. Especially if we can get Quinton Lane at cornerback.

So, you can go to school in the middle of one of the world's business centers with over 100,000 alumni in the DFW market or you can go to Southern Miss, a fine university located in an education poor state that doesn't have much going for it outside of coastal casinos. Your choice.

Somebody needs to tweet at Marcus Trice and get him on this kid.. That would have a lot of sway with a player one would think.

Why haven't we already hired Marcus Trice in some coaching capacity, GA, whatever. Is he on an NFL roster right now? If not, get him here and working!

Good get. Nice to beat out S. Miss in head to head competition for a player. While down recently, the program has a much stronger football history than UNT and beat UNT this year.

Hopefully Gray helps change that history.

His HUDL says FS & QB.. (did we promise him a chance to compete for the starting QB job?? on a serious note he is listed as a free safety but there were quite a bit of clips on his HUDL were he is stacked in the box like a SS would be.

Welcome aboard! Go get done green and rep it.

We really needed a guy like this. It allows a lot more flexibility from a personnel standpoint in the secondary. McClain and Gray will roam the back end and that will allow solid competition to 2 (in my mind) wide open corner positions.

My guess is they might announce the DC at the same time they officially announce the jucos today. Surely they have known who the DC is with all of these defensive players commiting.

      For sure. I think you'll always have some issues that will be attacked. I think you'll also, with any staff, have some issues that are just tendencies and won't go away. The former, we know that Morris is trying a new DC The latter, for example, I'm not holding my breathe for the QB under center any time soon.

      Should we add Texas State to the AAC?

      After the bowl, I’m of the opinion that we should have Texas State on the schedule for an annual home and home series, even if we aren’t in a conference with them. It was a great atmosphere. School is close. Large public Texas institution. Fans are fun and also like to party. What is not to like?

      A troll? I have been a fan, including student and alumni, since 1965. Think you've got me mistaken with someone else. 1. Do that every year. 2. Shirt giveaway for last night's retro night. They called it "Retro Night" and did nothing retro other than give out t's to the first 500 fans. How did they market that? Email to alumni and ticket holders three or four days prior. 3. Do people really look at the schedule and decide that frisbee dogs will make them attend? 4. Denton student day. I am assuming you are referencing the 11am tip-off women's game that, by nature of the tip time, limits attendance to those students. Sorry, I see a lack of creativity and effort because they were doing these same things in the mid 70's when I attended as a kid. I am well aware that we don't choose the announcers. Not by point. Do I think they provided them with incorrect information? Nope, that topic was probably never addressed in the production meeting, but someone from the department should be monitoring the broadcast to correct stupid comments like the one mentioned last night and referenced above. He was complimentary of UNT during the broadcast, but he pulled that "fact" out of his ass and someone should be there to correct them.

      Adding Texas State feels like such an easy call to me. It would be good for attendance and give our fans another easy road game.
