Schools making pitches this week to host the tournament include Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, UAB and UTEP. There's no sure thing on when the site may be officially announced.

Louisiana Tech wants to host the 2014-15 tournament at the Centurylink Center, in Bossier City, La., a 14,000-seat arena near Shreveport. The Shreveport Times reports that the women's tournament would begin at Centenary's arena in Shreveport before playing the semifinals and finals at the Centurylink Center.

Story is updated now and states that Birmingham is going to be the host city. Sucks. I liked the idea of Bossier or Biloxi much more.

Crap. I don't like that city, at all. Maybe Bossier or Biloxi can host it when we are good again

Sorry - I didn't get to elaborate... I visited there recently and it is a pretty nice town. Lots of trees and plenty of things to do, restaurants etc.. It's a drivable trip and if you look at the C-USA map it is pretty much right in the center. You can stop at many casinos in Shreveport etc along the way or Greentrack Casino in Eutaw AL is a combination dog track and casino with 1,500 slot machines which is right near Birmingham if you like to do that. The other thing I like is 20 is a great roadtrip highway, very smooth and safe especially if you are driving during the day. Obviously, Shreveport would be the ideal for UNT but I like that they are trying to get a mix of fans there by choosing the more central locale.

Oh also forgot if you are a golfer -- Birmingham has some of the best golf course in the country! Robert Trent Jones trail courses as well as others.
