1) The more gay dudes there are, the less competition you have for women's attention.

2) The more bisexual girls there are, the better your chances at what we call a "twofer." Or even a Hat Trick, though those can get awkward, what with the weird angles and falling off of the bed and such.

You're welcome.

The bottom line is those two dudes hammed it up for the camera. If AJ McCarron and his ridiculously hot fiance behaved like they did, I'd say they were classesless. If I said anything about these guys being classless then people would call me a bigot. I hope he enjoys his 15 minutes because he still has to make the team in a very competitive league. When they cut him, at some point in his career, some of y'all will say he was cut for being gay. Not because he was old or lacked talent.

You've got a good point. He's still a kid and did something to draw attention to himself. Of course some at A&M want to rename the stadium after football player who draws attention to himself at every opportunity. People can't seem to get enough of that guy. I have no problems with religious beliefs as long as they don't infringe on the civil liberties of others. As a species, I hope we someday will admit the source material for much of religion is just wrong.

Sigh. Why is this not in the Pie forum where I can ignore it?

I prefer to get my fix on inflammatory and ridiculous opionions about UNT football here and get my fix on inflammatory and ridiculous opinions about politics and God on Facebook.

"being intolerant of intolerant people also makes you intolerant"

- said extremely simple minded people

First of all, even if it did make perfect sense, it doesn't change the fact that you're a bigot. You're just pointing fingers at someone else to deflect the criticism from yourself. Second, if you're saying that being intolerant of intolerant people is equal to being intolerant of people who don't affect you in any way, then you're dumb and a bigot . Also, It only works on other stupid people. No one with any sense would buy into this logic.

Define intolerant as it pertains to this issue.

I pointed out this rather unfortunate conjunction of terms to my wife right after Sam was drafted. It was bound to happen with a fair number of teams that could have taken him...including the Chargers, Browns, and Buccaneers. It's also likely that only people with too much time on their hands, such as myself, would be aware of this in their musings.

I don't have the stomach to read through 4 pages of nonsense. This is in response to many of the comments on the first page of this thread

I think the main issue is that not once has espn shown a BYU player get drafted while at home surrounded by his wives and they all start making out.

I think tolerance requires that we see this VERY soon.

Here's where I sit: I don't care what gender of person he wants to kiss or if it's on television. While i don't know for sure, i'm sure we witnessed plenty of other kisses throughout draft day(s). I agree the unnecessary PDA isn't that classy regardless of gender. But you probably saw it an psychologically ignored the other draft day lip services. If you're going to censor one, i think all of them should be censored. If you aren't going to censor any then let it all run.

I think most people fall in the middle of these arguments. "It's his life, let him do what he wants as long as it doesn't infringe on my right to disagree or agree". I was raised in a very conservative home and often have these discussion with my mother. She doesn't agree with it and it doesn't fall in line with her religious beliefs. She also would never turn someone away from a church door, her home or business in order to alienate another person of another race, religion or sexuality. At the end of the day we can only choose for ourselves.

All that being said, i think Sam was intentionally making a statement. First thing i do if i was drafted was hug my parents and thank them. Girlfriends/boyfriends/significant others come and go. I also think, that he's making an unapologetic statement to lighten the load off the others who may have to follow in his footsteps.

We have seen other kisses, but I don't recall ever seeing a cake in the face and make out session that we got. Especially for a seventh round pick. Usually you don't see any seventh rounders on camera for their selections. It was just a bit over done and in your face for my tastes. We could have ended the coverage with him getting the call and briefly celebrating with the people in the room just like we do with pretty much every other selection in the draft (and no others in that round).

It was the networks decision how long the celebration and coverage went on. Do you blame the Malaysian plane for CNN's unnecessary coverage?

But i also think you "recall" because a guy kissing a girl wouldn't standout to you in that manner anyway. I mean i couldn't stand the coverage of the regular draft anyway the analyst are terrible.

I don't blame the Malaysians for the coverage. He agreed to this since it was obviously staged. He could have opted out. The networks should have made their coverage of the situation equitable, but that is not how networks work.

I think I would remember if a guy was shoving cake all over a woman's face and then making out. It would have been in poor taste for that to happen as well.

what if Sam's boyfriend was 15, would it be wrong then? I find most people are hypocrites on this issue. We all have lines drawn. When DOMA was struck down it opened a Pandora's Box. Sotomayer said as much. Only a matter of time before someone in Utah pushes for the legalization of polygamy

Talking about it is pointless.

If your child saw this on television, the only solution is to gouge their eyes out and pour lye in the empty sockets to try and purify them and purge the wickedness. By now, though, the disease as likely taken root too deep, and it's probably too late. Best to euthanize them and start over.

It's for their own good. I suggest either a burning at the stake, or the old classic- burlap sack filled with bricks, straight into a pond. Whatever you choose, include the TV so it can't pollute your home again.

Put them out of their misery before they catch the gay. Have a new child, and make sure to eradicate all the photos of your original kid(s) so that your clean slate doesn't get confused or start asking questions.
