Haha the way you phrased the title, I thought someone was going to argue some sort of causal relationship between us and UT's draft stock.

I am really shocked by this, especially when you always see some studs come out of Sun Belt schools, smaller schools...

Orr will fit into the Baltimore system beautifully and Brelan is going to fly out by the beach. Both our guys landed in some good next life chapter places.

This year, the NFL proved it didn't have a ban on drafting gay players, but did institute a ban on drafting longhorns

Showing your bigotry by comparing gay players to Longhorns, don't you think?

Also, I was talking to my child today about the possibilities of attending UT. She said the only way she would go there is if they offered a four-year irrevocable full ride plus stipend and no other school was making such an offer.

So in other words she's not going to UT. Send her to North Texas. It's unconstitutional for her to go anywhere else..

I don't think that's what he was doing. It was more of a knock on UT than Michael Sam. But yo, was it necessary for them to show each other licking frosting off each other's faces?

That's like a math & science school for high school students in Denton right?

They go as juniors in high school and stay in a dorm on the UNT campus. They take a full 15 hour freshman and sophomore class load focused on math and science. They must maintain a 3.0 GPA to graduate, a 3.5 for graduation with honors. They tend to get carte blanche as to where they want to finish up college from that point.

I wish anyone was able to understand that I was saying it was an insult to gay players to compare them to Longhorns, hence the guffaw at your non-existent bigotry.

Really? You have schadenfreude because the Horns don't have a draft pick for the first time in 77 years (Longest streak of any school in the country) when we haven't had a draft pick in how many years???

Days after drafting a mobile quarterback from aTm, the Browns release the mobile QB from UT. Vince Young is AGAIN among the unemployed.

meanwhile Charlie Strong & Co. had 4 players from the Louisville squad get drafted. 3 in the first round. This from a former CUSA, commuter school in a state and school where basketball comes first,

A program like Texas should have draftees every year, and Strong and staff have proven they can recruit and develop talent. Enjoy it today because this draft drought wont last long.

      First College Net Rankings released

      😂 I hate revisiting the records and specific games of that era cause it was all such a train wreck. Still should be discussed from time to time when some of our fanbase gets restless with wanting to take the next step as a program. Trying to cement ourselves as a perineal Top 50 program is tough but we’re on the right track. I remember years back @TheTastyGreek putting into perspective how tough achieving a Top 25 ranking in hoops was relative to FBS football back in the day. Too lazy to go dig that up but it really highlighted how difficult it is generally speaking and then layer in what you’re describing above - what UNT has had to overcome from a performance and program perception standpoint.

      I’ll never understand the mental gymnastics some on here do to justify this underperformance? We fired Seth after a Conference USA title game appearance- justifiably - so we would get someone to take the NEXT step that was elusive for his regime. Now we’ve got people making excuses for wasting the first year of Morris’ tenure by mis-reading the personnel that he judged to be “AAC title contenders” and then flopping. Didn’t use the portal well enough to beef up glaring deficiencies. Then brings back the worst, yet somehow highest compensated G5 DC in America for year 2 which led to an inevitable firing that even the most casual of football fans could see coming from a mile away before the season even started. The 2nd year performance was predictable as well, but extra dissapointing given the soft schedule 5-1 start. To end up 6-6 is nearly unforgivable. We’d better win this upcoming Bowl game.

      like how we finished 8-22 in Benford's last season and had a final ranking of 299?? at the time we were a few spots below a couple hospital teams, Detroit Mercy & Sacred Heart. now we're three back of UT https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/seasons/men/2017-ratings.html
