6'3" 248 lb defensive lineman from Graham. Visited spring practice this year. First team 5-3A all district at defensive end, but is big enough to grow into a 3-tech naturally. Also plays offensive tackle for his school. Colorado State has also offered.

I thought the staff telling McWhorter to hold off with his commitment to North Texas was a suspicious move.

McWhorter wanted to commit to North Texas after the Friday Night Lights recruiting event.

I think McWhorther is a very good DE that would possibly turn into a DT for North Texas down the road.

Why not offer McWhorter as a DT? I sure as heck do not see any DT's committing to North Texas!

I think North Texas might regret not offering the scholarship to McWhorter. I would bet the Graham coaching staff

holds North Texas in a different perspective right now.

Good Luck to you Dustin at Texas State!

I was thinking the same thing. You can't stack enough DL commits, especially given that the "big boys" like to come sniffing around in January to try to fill out their classes.

But I'll trust Mac and Co.

Hopefully UNT is still recruiting him. I think not all hope is lost with this guy, he is a TSu commit for heaven's sake.

We passed on him. He tried to commit at our Friday Night Lights camp and we wouldn't let him. We made up some lame excuse about needing to see his transcripts before accepting his commitment. Then we pretty much stopped contacting him and we accepted RD Wegmann's commitment. According to a poster here we've really soured our reputation in Graham because of that situation.
