NFL draft

DT has NFL quality arm strength. The throwing motion is a concern as his footwork. When the pocket collapses or he faces pressure up the middle he tends to throw off his back foot instead of stepping into a throw. Leads to those over throws.

Teams will like the intangibles off the field. They will like the arm strength size and mobility. They won't like the mechanics or the accuracy.

Should get an UDFA call

We disagree about his arm strength.

We agree about his back footed throws, but they do not cause overthrows. Just the opposite. It also causes a loss of velocity that allows DBs that extra half a second to close on the ball.

Again, he will never be a starter, but I could see his other attributes allowing him to catch on as someone's #3.

I meant it caused the ball to float. Which like you said gave DBs extra time to make plays and effected his accuracy.

When he stands in the pocket and throws with confidence his arm strength is more than adequate.

Robert Herron from Wyoming just selected. 5'9" 193 pound receiver. Honorable mention MWC all-conference last 2 seasons.

Very similar to a better player that is still available...

I'm really starting to wonder if UNT's football rep doesn't hurt our players in the draft.

We have to get our kids an invite to the combine. I think that streaks ends next year Edited by NT03

Hmmm, +1 to UNT90 on his last speculation. I mean, Ball State and FAU haven't beaten us lately, except in the NFL draft.

The NFL draft is about how players project at the next level. It's not about who you beat or didn't beat.

Ya our guys had great production, but the measurables and skill set is somewhat lacking for the next level. Add that to the rep and that not a lot of scouts or analyst do their HW on our guys.

FWIW:

Chancellor’s Indy snub was one of those annual misses made by the committee of personnel executives who make the selections, but hey can’t invite everybody who's worthy. Often the desire to put a player who has been injured through the extensive medical exam will tip the scales in some of the selections.

Last year, 29 players who were not invited to the combine were selected in the seven-round draft -- or 11.4 percent of selections -- so a guy who was a conference special teams player of the year isn't exactly a sleeper to the guys who evaluate for a living.

As a result Chancellor is not an under-the-radar player for special-teams units with a need -- he's squarely on it.

So far we have as many players drafted as UT does... so we got that going for us.

.

Partially explains why Mack Brown is now history... Wonder how many years since they have had no picks in first 6 rds.

Sometimes not being picked is better than a late pick... that way THEY get to chose which team to sign with and where they feel they have the best place of having success. You can bet someone is very aware of Brelan....... l

Half a dozen picks left so the chances of any of ours getting drafted are slim. Once again you have schools like Saginaw Valley and Bloomsburg getting their guys picked up but nothing for poor little us. There was even a guy with no school listed but his player card said "McGill," does that mean he was in the Air Force?

I am more surprised no one took a chance on Jordan Lynch to be honest.

I didn't even notice that. Better to lose at SMU than to win at NIU and be a Heisman Finalist?
