Time to revive "The Eyes of North Texas"

Silver, as much as I love bickering traditions and the like with you in person, this is just plain silly.

So using the predatory eyes of our official mascot to mock the title of their Alma Mater is silly?

Tell me again where you stand on the albino squirrel issue?

Now, THAT is silly.

The problem with these ideas for the UT game - both "Keep Denton Beard" and "The Eyes of North Texas" - is that the reaction of the UT fans will be "Oh, how cute - NTSU is copying us. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". What we want is "Wow - they really are the MEAN GREEN".

Nicely stated. However, the Keep Austin Weird is not that original, so I don't worry about the Keep Denton Beard thing.

But what the hell does keep Denton beard have to do with anything UNT? Not one damn thing.

Looks like a pathetic attempt at acceptance when sported in mass in Austin at a UNT-UT game.

Just wear your normal apparel and act like a regular fan base for a change.

Kids have beards these days on campus. No more days of crew cuts only.

How about a T-shirt with a picture of Coach Skladaney polishing off a huge T-bone?

AWESOME!

Think you have my age confused. Maybe we could come up with a cute saying about mullets that has nothing to do with UNT athletics?

Not sure I'm on board with the mindset of separating community from the athletic department, though there seems to be a historical delineation there for UNT. I doubt many in Austin have a problem with UT representing their city.

For whatever reason, beards have become a Denton thing. Not sure where the mullets tie in to anything of relevance.

I'm from the mullet generation, not the crew cut generation.

Those shirts are great at a home game. They look weird, dumb, and knock offish at a game against UT in Austin.

It would be like Nichols St fans sporting "Geaux Mean Colonels" shirts when they come to Apogee.
